An on-again-off-again ad- dict living in the small desert town of Yucca Valley, California, Peggy (Patricia Arquette, "Sev- erance") makes the decision to make some major changes in her own life after the death of her beloved mother (Bernadette Pe- ters, "Mozart in the Jungle"). Taking on a bold new venture, the story follows Peggy as she becomes a private investigator. WHAT'S NEW ON PRIME "Primo" - Season 1 Catch a slice of Texan life in the new Freevee original series "Pri- mo," premiering on Prime Video Friday, May 19. From creator Shea Serrano ("Hip Hop: The Songs That Shook America"), "Primo" is a single-camera com- ing-of-age comedy inspired by Serrano's own experiences growing up in San Antonio. The series follows teenager Rafa Gonzales (Ignacio Diaz-Silverio, "A Good Person," 2023), who is being raised in the city by his mother, Drea (Christina Vidal, "The Terminal List") and his five overbearing uncles — Rollie (Johnny Rey Diaz, "Grey's Anat- omy"), Mike (Henri Esteve, "Grown-ish"), Ryan (Carlos San- tos, "Gentefied"), Jay (Jonathan Medina, "Walker: Indepen- dence") and Mondo (Efrain Vil- la, "Better Call Saul"). WHAT'S NEW ON HULU "White Men Can't Jump" (2023) Come together to win it all with the modern remake of the hit 1992 sports comedy "White Men Can't Jump" when the new Hulu Original film premieres Friday, May 19, on the streamer. While the 1992 film starred Woody Harrelson ("True Detective") and Wesley Snipes ("Blade," 1998) as the original streetball hustlers, this new iteration stars multi-platinum rap superstar Jack Harlow ("First Class") in his film debut, alongside "American Soul," "Power" and "Teen Wolf" star Sinqua Walls as Jeremy and Kamal. While Jeremy is a former basketball star whose career was stalled by injuries, Kamal is a once-promising player who de- railed his own future in the sport. As the pair of hustlers take on the Los Angeles courts, the two — seemingly completely opposite — men learn they may have more in common than they could have ever imagined. WHAT'S NEW ON NETFLIX "Selling Sunset" - Season 6 The hustle to be the best and brightest in California's luxury real estate market continues when Season 6 of the smash-hit reality series "Selling Sunset" premieres on Netflix Friday, May 19. With new agents, new drama and even more ultra-lux- urious properties, this new sea- son promises to come back in with a bang as the crew from The Oppenheim Group bring all of their personal and profession- al drama to the small screen. As owners and twin brothers Jason and Brett Oppenheim work to stay at the top of L.A.'s high-end real estate world, real estate agents Chrishell Stause, Heather El Moussa, Davina Potratz, Mary Fitzgerald, Chelsea Lazkani, Emma Hernan and Amanza Smith return to the screen as they balance their cutthroat work lives with new relation- ships, expanding families and (as always) a wealth of personal drama. WHAT'S NEW ON HBO MAX "Spy/Master" - Season 1 Get swept up on a daring new adventure with the Max Original international series "Spy/Mas- ter" when it premieres its first two episodes on HBO Max Fri- day, May 19. Episodes air weekly on Fridays thereafter. Set during the height of the Cold War, "Spy/ Master" follows Victor Godeanu (Alec Secareanu, "God's Own Country," 2017), the fictional right-hand man and closest ad- viser to Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceausescu (Claudiu Bleont, "The Wanderers: The Quest of The Demon Hunter," 2017), through a week of his life. But as he also leads a double life as a secret agent for the KGB, Godeanu must escape Romania and Ceaușescu before his cover is blown, using a diplomatic trip to Germany as his way out to the promised escape of America. With the help of an undercover Stasi agent (Svenja Jung, "Deutschland 89") and an up- and-coming CIA agent (Parker Sawyers, "P-Valley"), Victor must elude the KGB and his own country in his bid for freedom.
