INSIDE: Eta Exudes Energy and Enthusiasm 2 Eta Runs in the Family Chapter Officers 3 Alumni News 4 Standard Bearer The Spring 2023 Eta Chapter of Sigma Chi at the University of Mississippi W hat an amazing time to be involved with Eta Chapter! I'm fortunate to be able to work alongside stellar young men whom any of you would be honored and proud to call brothers. In October, they initiated an incredible pledge class. IN REMEMBRANCE Tragically, the following week we lost Walker Fielder '24 of Madison, Mississippi. Young men like him are so rare, and his absence is felt daily by his brothers. HOLIDAY HOSPITALITY Over Christmas break, Major Geoffrey Yoste '88 and his lovely wife, Julie, were gracious hosts of a ΣΧ alumni party. About 25 local alumni attended and celebrated the season with great food and drinks. HOUSE ACTIVITIES AND HOUSE DIRECTOR An old tradition has been reestablished at the Sigma Chi house: Friday alumni breakfasts. The turnout has been good, and the actives are enjoying alumni's stories from many years ago. Next time you are visiting Oxford for the weekend, make it a point to eat at the house, reminisce, and meet Mrs. Nancy McRight, our new housemother. She joined us in August, and her energy and love for our chapter are immeasurable. She was also recognized by the university and named House Manager/Mother of the Year! GET INVOLVED! The positives and potential of our beloved chapter are too numerous to list, and our goal is to continue this wave of momentum into the summer and next fall. If you would like to volunteer your time in some capacity or prefer to make a financial contribution, please don't hesitate to contact me.
