Orrin Hatch A s alumnae, we can appreciate this sentiment. We reflect fondly upon our own experiences within Tri Delta and anticipate the many wonderful endeavors yet to come. This May, the Delta Xi Chapter will honor and celebrate 55 members in the senior new member class of 2019. Congratulations to these amazing young women; we wish you all the best! Much like our graduating seniors who will pause for reflection, the Delta Xi House Corporation Board is continuously reflecting upon the past, present, and future needs of our beloved Chapter House. Staying true to our historic home, we strive to implement updated living features appreciated by our current members. Resulting in part from the generous support of our alumnae, we have beautifully renovated interior common living spaces, installed an extensive air neutralization system, and replaced the roof, gutters, and historic trim. Understandably, these have been extensive, time-consuming, and highly specialized projects. We are thrilled with the positive impact we are making on our current and future members' collegiate experience. This summer, we will begin much-needed exterior renovations that will not only enhance the beauty of our home but, most importantly, also increase the safety of our members. We plan to: Renovate the front stairs and front sidewalk. The aged front stairs on a steep front yard, leading from door to sidewalk, are crumbling and/or cracking and creating a safety hazard. The stairs are not equipped with handrails, and there is no contrast lighting. The sidewalk between the two sets of stairs has major cracks, creating an uneven surface. Add security lighting. Our need for perimeter security lighting is of utmost importance to ensure the safety of our members and guests. Enhance landscaping. • Build retaining walls to prevent soil erosion. • Replace the sprinkler system. • Add a beautiful brick DDD signage wall on the corner. • Add/replace front yard landscaping. Looking to the future, we have identified the need for bathroom renovations, new sunporch windows, parking lot and sidewalk repair as well as the necessary upkeep and maintenance on an almost 100-year-old home. When in Columbia, please know you are always welcome at 901 Richmond. I invite you to reflect upon your days spent here and witness the excitement of our current Deltas. I also encourage you to join us in the future endeavors of Delta Xi. If you would like to learn more about serving on the house corporation or getting involved in any capacity, I would love to hear from you. The past, present, and future of Delta Xi rely upon the strong support of her membership!
