This is a high-energy and electrifying event that is enjoyable for all ages and has thrilled and entertained fans. The East Coast Step Show was designed to bring the talent and the art of stepping from various parts of the country, with college/alumni and Greek teams showcasing their styles and choreography. In addition to stepping, there will be singers, music, dancing, surprises, and also a special musical guest. A big portion of the proceeds from each event is used to assist with scholarships, charity, tuition, membership dues and community service. Registered participants receive supplies and hands- on instruction provided by Kidscreate Studio. The Messy Monday series is most suitable for ages 4 to 12. However, any age able to hold a pencil is welcome to participate. Each week is a unique project for participants to enjoy and take home with them at the end of the session. This community event will have Thread Capital CDFI and CEED Lending representatives discussing the pathways to capital access, as well as successful business owners, food, drinks, and lots of networking opportunities! 12 p.m. MONDAY, APRIL 17 SATURDAY, APRIL 15 "A PLEBIAN'S HONOR" CAPE FEAR REGIONAL THEATRE 6:30 p.m. This show is part two of a special se- ries consisting of three performances featuring Southern spoken word artists whose work explores the intersections of military service, fatherhood, and life as a Black man in the American South. Fayetteville is home to Fort Bragg, the largest military installation in the country. The Fighting Fathers will give voice to an intersection of our local community that is often overlooked. Neil Ray is known as the godfather of poetry in Fayetteville. More than 20 years ago, he started the Java Expressions open mic night held at a local coffee shop and continues to serve as the MC. Tattoos and body art can tell a story that words cannot. No one knows this better than our troops, who when they come back from war, often struggle to rejoin everyday life and relate to those who have no concept of what it's like in war.
