BROTHERHOOD EVENTS We believe that group activities are the root of bonding as a chapter. During Welcome Week, we held a movie night on the patio while the weather was still warm. The brothers in attendance, as well as our house mom, Rose, enjoyed this relaxing kickoff to the school year. We have attended Red Wings and Pistons games, organized events such as paintball, and much more. Brotherhood Chairman Bobby Long '24 stated, "Planning our brotherhood events is awesome. Not only are they a getaway from the stress of academics and other responsibilities, but they are also an awesome way to bond and have great experiences." MEMBER ACTIVITIES As our chapter prides itself on academic prowess, we are proud to have members who explore their college lives beyond the classroom. Once such brother is Andrew Charkales '24, who serves as president of the Accounting Association. Early in January, Brother Charkales led the association to Detroit, where they toured large accounting firms. "It was not only an eye-opening experience, but also a great opportunity to network and establish relationships within the industry," he said. ALUMNI/PARENT EVENTS Like every year, we successfully hosted our parents and alumni for a fall tailgate. Although they are welcome anytime, we were honored to host them for a meal on our favorite day of the week: MSU game day. Alumni Chairman Chase Krol '24 shared, "It's awesome to host a game day! We get to hear stories of the good old days and see our family, which is always great." MEMBERSHIP This fall, we met 270 potential new members during recruitment. We are proud to have welcomed 34 in the fall, followed by 11 more this spring. Recruitment Chairman Sam Sheldon '25 explained why he enjoys leading our semesterly recruitment process: "The best part is STRIVING FOR THE HIGHEST STANDARDS Brothers Cultivate a Space for Growth and Service A t 342 N. Harrison, our members involve themselves daily within the atmosphere of Michigan State's campus, establishing pillars of our involvement and growth for ourselves. We define these pillars as leadership, brotherhood, philanthropy, scholarship, and networking. These constructs are practiced vastly throughout our brotherhood, establishing the morals and values Michigan Gamma practices and reflects to the community. ACADEMICS Academically, Michigan Gamma has earned itself a reputation of excellence within Greek life at MSU. This past year, however, our chapter GPA was a 3.26—good, but not our best. Compared to other chapters across campus (including business fraternities), we ranked 15th. We will continue to strive for chapter-wide GPA growth and move closer to the top of the leaderboard. Newly elected Scholarship Chairman Jayden Conklin '25 knows there is room for improvement. "Fifteenth is not good enough. It is my goal to hold our academics to the highest standard and regain a top 10 spot among Greek life academically," Brother Conklin said. PHILANTHROPY Michigan Gamma has hosted and joined multiple philanthropy events in the last year. In the fall, we competed in a charity softball event against Phi Gamma Delta; we charged each spectator a $15 entry fee and were blown away by the support. Philanthropy Chairman Lance Fogelberg '25 has big plans to boost our philanthropic activities. He is currently planning our annual Hockey Fights Cancer charity hockey game, which will be played against Theta Chi. The event succeeded tremendously last year and will continue to do so for years to come. Brother Fogelberg believes that there is something to enjoy within every philanthropy event while giving back to the community. "While we make philanthropy events a good time for everyone to come support, at the end of the day, it's for the people in need of help," Lance said.
