SEABROOK AUDITORIUM Fayetteville State University Theatre & Dance is proud to present Top Dog/Under- dog, the 2001 Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Suzan-Lori Parks. The FSU production will be directed by Professor of Theatre David Griffie, and promises to be an exploration of race, power dynamics and brotherly love. FSU Theatre's production will bring to life this powerful work with a cast featuring FSU students. SATURDAY, APRIL 1 INTRODUCTION TO VOICEOVER GILBERT THEATER 2 p.m. Tripp Palooza is back for its third and FINAL time. Tripp Palooza is a festival open to the public to honor the life of Tripp Easton, a genuine and loving man, and an avid animal lover; which is why the proceeds from the silent auction will go to the Fayetteville Animal Protection So- ciety (FAPS). Bring your free spirits, open hearts, love for music, and your entire family (friendly and vaccinated dogs included) for a great time. There is no fee to attend this event, but if you're able, please bring one of these items to donate to FAPS: Non-Clumping Cat Litter, Purina Pro Plan Kitten/Puppy Food, Stamps, Training Treats, Liquid Laundry Soap and Paper Towels. Fayetteville Spanish Seventh-day Adventist Church is hosting a Community Day/Health Fair. It will be a day to show the community love and support. Groceries, clothing, COVID vaccines, health checks and nutri- tion consults will be available for free. There will also be free haircuts, gifts, crafts, games for kids, example workout routines, a Marching Band Demonstration and live music. In this workshop, stu- dents focus on creating vivid and powerful images through writing based on using the five senses. Students will create free verse poems and gain an understanding of how poets move from abstract idea to concrete image. Students also learn how to incorporate the use of imagery in the writing of poetic monologues and learn the basics of creating character-driven po- ems. Howard L. Craft is an award-winning playwright, poet, essayist, screenwriter and arts educator. TUESDAY, APRIL 4 THURSDAY, MARCH 30 COMMUNITY BASED DOULA WEEK HEADQUARTERS LIBRARY 11 a.m. It's Community-Based Doula Week, and what better way to celebrate it than to join local doulas for a statewide Doula Town Hall. This will be a 2-part Town Hall (in-person AND virtual). This is your opportu- nity to learn about the State of NC Community-Based Doulas, the State of Black Maternal Health in North Carolina, and learn about what is happening at the state level. It highlights content creators of Africa and the African Diaspora who showcase the global impact that films can have in closing cultural and educational gaps. Throughout the festival schedule, open dialogue will help build a connection among com - munities and give voice to different perspectives. The event will also expose aspiring filmmakers to the fundamentals of filmmaking and experiences in acting, directing, scriptwriting and choreography.
