Delta Gamma at the University of Iowa Spring 2023 INSIDE: Proud of Tau p. 2 • Committed to Giving Back p. 3 • Chapter Goals p. 4 Ties to Tau J ust like your own home, our Tau Chapter house requires tender loving care. A chunk of our annual budget is devoted to repairs such as a leaking hot water tank or a clogged toilet. Balancing this are other projects we have to address, including adding insulation to the attic area or removing a tree that is buckling a sidewalk. Collegians also have a voice and give us feedback during budgeting time on improvements they want such as creating a workout space or adding a fire pit to the outdoor patio. One of the most important tasks we have is ensuring members have nutritious and fresh food. This past year, we changed food service companies to Greek House Chefs (greekhousechefs.com). A big thanks to the House Corporation volunteers who interviewed four food service companies with selection criteria including service philosophy, budget, menu ideas, chef experience, and onsite management with House Director Eileen. We were wowed by Greek House Chefs and now have chef Brittany, who loves to interact with the members and talk about special food or nutrition needs. Greek House Chefs is a bit of a recruitment tool for us too, as collegians talk up the food experience at Tau during recruitment. Technology helps connect members with chef Brittany through the GHC app, which gives them the ability to provide feedback and suggestions 24/7. Chef Brittany revs up the food fun factor with culinary surprises, including a Taylor Swift birthday party and an iced coffee bar during finals. Her culinary delights also attract live-out members who are drawn to the chapter house for awesome food and sisterhood. Our House Corporation Board is also supported by our regional housing specialist, Wendy, who is always available to help answer questions. And we're always looking for new House Corporation Board members to join us. The time commitment is minimal (four meetings per year, mostly via Zoom). If you're interested, please contact me.
