A
s alumni of Alpha-Omicron Zeta, it is
important to stay connected and actively
involved in the organization that played such
a significant role in our lives during college.
This connection not only provides opportunities
to give back to our fraternity, but also to make
new connections, continue personal growth,
and create memories that will last a lifetime.
You may be asking yourself, "How can I get
involved? What can I do to help?"
One way to get involved is by serving on
the Alumni Advisory Board. As members
of the board, we provide support, guidance,
and advice to the active chapter, help plan
alumni events, and serve as ambassadors
for our fraternity to other alumni and the
community. Being on the board is a fulfilling
and rewarding experience, as we can give back
to the organization that gave us so much. I
personally have made new connections with
both undergraduates and alumni—even making
new friends—in my time serving on the board.
It's been a rewarding experience.
Another way to get involved is by attending
alumni events and supporting the active
chapter. These events provide opportunities
to reconnect with old friends, make new
connections, and relive some of the best
moments of our college days. Attending events
also helps to show our support for the active
chapter and reinforces the importance of our
fraternity in our lives. Attend a watch party,
come to an alumni event, or drop by the house
when you're in Bloomington and ask for a tour.
It is also important to support the
fraternity financially. This can be done
through donating to the alumni fund, House
Corporation, or AO educational fund and
supporting the active chapter through their
fundraising efforts. Financial support ensures
that the fraternity can continue to provide
valuable experiences and opportunities for
current and future members. Contributions
can be directed to the fund of your choosing
by contacting aohighpi@gmail.com or
scanning this QR code.
Finally, consider mentoring a current
member or serving as a resource for the
active chapter. Sharing our experiences and
providing guidance to the next generation of
members not only helps the fraternity, but it
also helps us continue our personal growth.
As alumni of our fraternity, we have a unique
opportunity to make a positive impact on the
organization and its members. Whether it's serving
on the alumni advisory board, attending events,
supporting the fraternity financially, or mentoring
a current member, there are many ways to get
involved and make a difference. Don't let time or
other reasons get in your way of getting involved.
In the words of Brother Harry S. Truman,
"It is not the amount of time you serve,
but the amount of heart you put into it that
truly matters." Let's take advantage of this
opportunity and stay connected to our fraternity,
now and always.
Please email us to discuss how you can get
involved.
