3 THE ORACLE I n November 2022, our High Zeta submitted a detailed Remediation Plan to the Lambda Chi Alpha Office of Administration, handcrafted by the officers to make Alpha-Omicron one of IU and Lambda Chi's premier chapters. We believe that, with increased alumni involvement, Office of Administration outreach, and Office of Sorority and Fraternity Life help, we are on the road to accomplish this. We aim to be a chapter committed to high academics, campus involvement, keen competition, and strong brotherhood. STAYING INVOLVED High Beta Max Canady '24 included in the plan an ambitious goal of 100% brother involvement in external clubs/organizations. While many brothers were already active in clubs, some were not. Working beside these individuals, Max persuaded them to get more involved so that our plan goals would be met. The purpose: we believe that not only are we preparing our brothers to graduate, but to succeed in the world. We now have members involved in a variety of clubs throughout IU, including the Indiana University Dance Marathon, Investment Management Workshop, Investment Banking Workshop, Phi Gamma Nu (professional business fraternity), and the Cuban Center of Sports Media and Technology. POSITIVE GROWTH Alpha-Omicron achieved a 3.47 GPA this past fall, with 50% of the brothers achieving a 3.5 GPA or greater. That ranks our chapter second academically at IU. From winning the Hoosier Grail last year (IFC intramural competition), we have made a successful return to intramurals this spring and look forward to continued success. REMEDIATION PLAN PROGRESS Our Remediation Plan goals are largely achieved, with each officer having invested a considerable amount of time to complete his goals with speed and precision. This includes a successful spring recruitment led by our High Delta, resulting in 24 new associates. Still to come is a major alumni event planned for April 1 at the chapter house. Also, a new Zeta LinkedIn group has been created to help brothers connect in a professional setting. Check it out at linkedin.com/ groups/14193883. RESTORATION AND ADVANCEMENT MEMBERS WORK WITH FRATERNITY, UNIVERSITY LEADERS TO CO MEMBERS WORK WITH FRATERNITY, UNIVERSITY LEADERS TO COME BACK STRONG E BACK STRONG Alpha-Omicron's Little 500 bike team is strong and never stopped training. Last spring was the first time our chapter had a team since 2018. We renovated our bike room to be more competitive and are excited to use it again. From the rolling hills of San Francisco to our nation's capital, and the flats of Indiana, our riders put in the hours this summer to race this year. Our team consists of alumni coach Dan Cummins '17, student coach Spencer Hollis '24, team captain Austin Richards '24, and riders Brooks Hillenbrand '23, Jackson Klem '23, and Kyle Rosecrans '24. All four 2022 riders are returning for 2023.
