DELTA KAPPA EPSILON • PSI CHAPTER PAGE 3 PSI TODAY: LEADERS ON CAMPUS, IN THE COMMUNITY, AND IN THE CLASSROOM AWARDS AND ACHIEVEMENTS • National – Psi Chapter received the third-place Lion Trophy for Scholarship at the 2022 DKE Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina. • Campus – Todd Borst, University of Alabama executive director of student conduct, said, "Every fraternity should model their pledge program after the DKE chapter. The school has had no issues with DKE and its members, and we wish that every other chapter would act as the DKEs do." We pride ourselves on having upstanding members, and the University has noticed and applauded the chapter and its members for their efforts. PHILANTHROPY • 2022 – Brothers of DKE had over 255 service hours to Al's Pals, a local mentorship program for high school students. Psi had over 40 service hours contributed to the True Vine Foundation in Eutaw, Alabama. DKE also donated $300 to Childhood Cancer Research. • Spring 2022 – Our inaugural DKE Crawfish Boil helped raise over $4,000 for Hope for the Day Foundation. Ms. Vivian's grandson, Searcy Elabash, a Phi at Alabama, died by suicide in spring 2021, and DKE wanted to raise money in his honor and toward suicide prevention. • Fall 2022 – Our brothers contributed enough blood to save more than 36 lives through the Psi blood drive. CHAPTER STATISTICS • Spring 2022 ended with a 3.16 GPA, fourth among large chapters and 12th overall. • Forrest Roy '23 has kept his GPA above 4.0 throughout college and will receive his red cap in May 2023, along with many others in the senior class. • Psi membership is at 147 after intentional downsizing over the past three years to allow membership to better fit the size of the house. • Of the almost 40,000 UA students, nearly 4,000 are fraternity men. Over a third of all students are members of the Greek community, and we continue to see the population of Greek students rise year over year. This past year, the Panhellenic Council had the most ladies ever attempt sorority recruitment.
