WINTER 2023
Brothers participate in the Phi Alpha Golf Outing, hoping to fortify
their bonds with alumni. From left: Zach Jandali '24, Drew Maytum '25,

The house hosted several families for Mom's Weekend this
past spring. Thank you to all families and brothers for helping
to put on such a successful event.
T
he brothers of the Illinois Beta Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon
are proud to announce a newly initiated class of 32 new
members. We had a very successful recruitment and are proud to
call the new member class of 2026 our brothers! Throughout the
semester, the brothers continued to use the Phoenix New Member
Education materials to further understand what it means to
embody a true gentleman. With this, we would like to acknowledge
Ty Seifert '25, Jack Muir '25, Peter Benedict '25, Josh
Millman '25, and Eric Hanson '23 for attending this year's Ritual
Academy in Evanston, Illinois. Thanks to the support of our alumni,
these brothers were lucky to have the opportunity to further
experience the Ritual of Sigma Alpha Epsilon.
In the fall semester, Illinois Beta conducted the 40th annual Phi
Alpha Golf Outing at Lake of the Woods Golf Course. We had an
incredible turnout with 19 alumni and 20 active brothers. We would
like to congratulate alumni brothers Ed Hansen '87, Dave
Erickson '86, and Jon Theeke '87 for winning PAGO. May this
tradition carry on for 40 more years!
During the semester, we hosted a Dad's Weekend tailgate at Grange
Grove. We had an incredible turnout this year and were very thankful
that the rain held off all day. The only thing that could have made
the day better was an Illini win. However, we thank all the fathers of
Sigma Alpha Epsilon and hope to see you all again next year.
After an eventful fall filled with tradition, brotherhood, and
development, we can't wait to get involved this spring. Thank
you for staying connected to Illinois Beta, and we look forward to
staying in touch in the new year.
