Recruitment Recruitment We moved back into the house on August 9 and began Sisterhood Week eager to welcome a new pledge class. After many conversation workshops and song practices, we were happy to welcome 32 new members home on our super sweet-themed Bid Day put on by Sydney Chance '21. Our recruitment team, Lauren Johnson '20, Bailey Severson '20, and Kira Roetman '21, got right to work when school began and recruited another 13 women. Thanks for you work, ladies! Philanthropy Philanthropy September brought some firsts for the chapter. As we welcomed a new philanthropy focus, foster care and youth homelessness, we searched for a local organization to partner with for the coming year. Cortney Sprecher '21 met with the Foster Care Network of Sioux Falls and established a partnership for us to benefit them through fundraising and donation drives. To welcome students back and announce this new partnership, we held a Snow Cone Welcome, led by Emily Nightengale '20, which served as our first fundraiser of the year. We also hosted our annual Chili Feed at the chapter house and put on a "Monster Mash"- themed date party to end October, which brought our fundraising total to $5,290 for the Foster Care Network. Sisterhood Bonding Sisterhood Bonding Our sisterhood retreat was also one to remember this year. We started the weekend with a sleepover at the house where sisters came together for a presentation night and various bonding activities. In the morning, we road- tripped up to Garretson, South Dakota, for goat yoga at the amazing Glean for Good farm. Afterward, we went on a tour of the farm to see a mini cow, piglets, and their very friendly donkey. I would like to send a big thank-you to all those who have helped me in the past year; your encouraging words and acts meant the world. It has been one of the most incredible and rewarding years. Snow Cone Welcome featuring members of the philanthropy team, Emily Nightengale '20 and Josie Jensen '21. In 1948, nine members of South Dakota Epsilon spent their summer vacations working at a Black Hills Lodge. Alpha Xi Delta placed second in the Strollers show for five straight years from 1964-68 before securing first place in 1969 with our partners, Delta Tau Delta. The house at 214 N. Plum saw many improvements during the 1970s. The bathrooms on the second and third floors were improved. The dining room, living room, second-floor lounge, TV room, and housemother's apartment were redecorated. The outside of the house was painted and landscaped along with a new ceiling in the chapter room. Epsilon History Fun Facts Going Above and Beyond Going Above and Beyond ACTIVES EXCEL IN ALL ASPECTS
