S ince the beginning of the campaign, we have been inspired by the generosity of our donors, and commitment of our volunteers. These individuals have led the way and have established the foundation for the Building for Our Second Century campaign. Our current chapter house is failing and doesn't reflect the caliber of our brotherhood. To remedy this, the plan is to begin construction of a new chapter house in June 2024. To make this happen, however, we need a broad and strong response from Alpha Lambda alumni over the next 18 months. To ensure our long-term success at Oregon State, we are proud to announce that we have increased our long-term campaign goal to $5 million—the full amount needed to rebuild our home in Corvallis. This reflects what we believe is possible based on the generosity of our brothers - it is not a change in plans for the building itself. In the short-term, the need is increasingly urgent! The Chapter House is truly at the end of its useful life. To begin construction in 2024, we need to reach at least $2.5 million. Ideally, we will reach $3 million-plus pledged and have $2.5 million in cash-on-hand at that time. We believe we can collectively reach these goals and ask every brother and friend of ΛXA at Oregon State to consider participating in the Building for Our Second Century campaign. Currently, pledges to the campaign total just over $1.5 million, including a generous planned gift from brother Bill Deeks '67-789. Please see brother Deeks letter to the brotherhood on page 3. As Bill writes: 'The time has come to provide our young and future brothers with a new Chapter House as our predecessors did in 1920 and 1964.' Together we have the unique opportunity to build a Chapter House designed for the 21st Century. It will be the gateway to the Oregon State campus at our unique 10th & Monroe location. ΛXA will welcome everyone to campus and will be a model of the future of Greek Life at OSU. While each of us invested in the campaign at the outset, we believe this is the time to increase our commitment to ensure that we continue to move as quickly toward our goal as possible. To keep us moving forward together, the campaign leadership team is willing to match donations from every new gift to the campaign up to $50,000. Our goal is within sight, and we will reach it together!
