G erry Reese '71-862 pledged his commitment to AΛ of ΛXA as a freshman at Oregon State in the fall of 1970. He has never wavered in his commitment to the fraternity, dedicating significant time and energy over the past five decades. Gerry served in leadership roles during his undergraduate years, including as High Phi, High Tau and High Alpha. After graduating, he became a ΛXA chapter consultant, working with chapters nationally. After returning to Oregon, Gerry jumped in to serve in alumni leadership roles. From the 1970s until now, he has been a Chapter Advisor, served on the House Corporation as President and Treasurer, and was responsible for publishing the Alpha Lambda Logos for many years. Together with his wife, Joann, Gerry was heavily involved in the 60th, 75th, 90th and the 100th anniversary celebrations. In 1998, he was awarded with the ΛXA Order of Merit, recognizing his remarkable commitment to the fraternity. This summer, Gerry has retired from his role as Treasurer of the House Corporation and Financial Advisor to the chapter. AΛ of ΛXA is extremely grateful to Gerry for all that he has done for the chapter over his many years of service, and to Joann for her service to ΛXA as well. Thank you, Gerry and Joann! AΛ has taken first or second place in nine of the last 12 Sing events! In May, the All-University Sing returned to Gill Coliseum after a two-year absence due to COVID-19. Appropriately, ΛXA returned to the podium, taking second place with partner sorority Kappa Alpha Theta. From December to May, the team spent countless hours each week practicing for this performance.
