Santa Clause has taken a break from his busy workshop to head down to Fayetteville for his favorite holiday tradition, visiting with families at Cross Creek Mall. Now through Dec. 24, Cross Creek Mall invites you to come out to visit, tell Santa your Christmas wishes and have your photo taken with him for a lasting holiday memo- ry. SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 26 DRAG NIGHT OUT TAPHOUSE AT HUSKE 2 p.m. & 8 p.m. The inspirational story, based on the memoir of Maria Augusta Trapp, follows an ebullient postulate who serves as gov- erness to the seven children of the imperious Captain von Trapp, bringing music and joy to the household. But as the forces of Nazism take hold of Austria, Maria and the entire von Trapp family must make a moral decision. WIRE WRAPPING PENDANT 325 BLOUNT STREET 6 p.m. The Downtown Market of Fayetteville is super excited to team up with local artist, Adrienne Trego, to bring you their first series of wire wrapping classes. These pendants will be great for a holiday gift for a loved one. The class includes a char- cuterie class for snacks, themed alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages, all materi- als to make your own tree of life pendant including gemstones, a gift box for the pendant, and two hours of fun, education and bonding time. Come be a part of the Bright Light family and celebrate the holiday. 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. MONDAY, NOVEMBER 28 FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 25 CAROLINA HOLIDAY 801 ARSENAL AVENUE 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Experience the nostalgia of holidays gone by with the Museum of the Cape Fear of the Historical Complex. This special exhibit highlights objects and traditions that people in North Carolina from the late 1800s to the 1960s experienced during the holiday season. Artifacts like early electric Christmas lights and glass-blown ornaments intersect with food traditions like Christmas cookies and latkes to show guests how the holidays were celebrated across the state. This Special Exhibit will remain open through Jan. 8. Admission to the museum and the exhibit is free. THE SOUND OF MUSIC THE GILBERT THEATER 8 p.m. – 10 p.m. Join the Taphouse at Huske for the pre- mier Thanksgiving weekend event, Drag Night Out, hosted by the fabulous Brenda the Drag Queen. All of Brenda's shows sell out so you will definitely want to get your tickets in advance. Brenda was voted Triad's Best Newcomer Drag Queen. Standing at 7-foot-tall, this drop-dead gorgeous Queen will keep you entertained with live-singing, shade-slinging comedy. In addition, this show has a very special guest, Kiara Mel, Ms. Gay North Carolina America 2022. And to top it off, Chloe Cassidy and Tara Nicole Brooks will be joining them and making their downtown Fayetteville debut! This is a first come, first serve event that is 21+ with a $15 cover. SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 26 FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 25 HOLIDAYS ON HAY DOWNTOWN FAYETTEVILLE 3 p.m – 9 p.m. Join the Arts Council of Fayetteville in cele- brating 23 years of arts and culture during the holiday season. Catch their spectacular, high-tech aerial light showcase featuring 200 state-of-the-art drones that are choreographed to present stunning holiday imagery across the night sky. Following the light show is the community tree and candle lighting ceremony. Vendors will be out, selling the perfect holiday gift for your loved ones. Don't forget about street artists, holiday performances, a gingerbread village, plenty of local chefs, making cards to hospital staff and sick patients, youth activities, crafts, and much more. This event is free to the public.
