November 16, 2022 www.DesertMessenger.com 11 Town Hall on 4-day work week permanently Having become a recent widow this year, Maggie Ross felt a real need to begin a new group of like sisters. She said, "There are dating groups, social groups, Hospice and church groups out there but none really ad- dress the need for connection with other women who have or are going through this stage of life." Sunfl ower Sisters has been started and it is hoped that it will grow and fl ourish starting this fall. Our fi rst event was held October 15th at 12 noon in the social hall at Covenant Lutheran Church. It was a free meet and greet luncheon and opportuni- ty for ladies to learn what we are all about. Ross states, "We have planned a great season of craft classes, fun outings and events to lift your spir- its and to form new friendships. There also is a new Sunfl ower Sis- ter's Facebook page you can join and see upcoming events for each month." Please call Maggie Ross if you need more information. 360-490-8175.
