Signature:_______________________________________________ Print Name:______________________________________________ Date: __________________________________ CATEGORY: __________________________ Christmas Light Parade 2022 entry form ENTRY FORM Don't dump at the wood chipper Quartzsite Police Dept reminds the public about abusing the wood chipper. The woodchipper located behind the Waste/Water Treatment Plant should only be used for dumping tree trimmings and other discard- ed vegetation. Illegal dumping of trash, building/construction mate- rial, concrete, and other debris are prohibited. BLM [Bureau of Land Management] has graciously al- lowed us to utilize this land to dis- pose of discarded vegetation. Continuous dumping of prohibited materials will result in the closure of the woodchipper. Please take all other debris and trash to the local or county landfi ll for proper dispos- al. Illegal dumping could result in a fi ne of $500 dollars and/or 30 days in jail. If you have any questions contact QPD at 928-927-6444. Littering is not only unsightly, it can cause environmental and health problems. Cigarette butts, for ex- ample, contain toxic chemicals that can end up in storm drains and con- taminate our water systems. Trash and other items falling from unse- cured loads can cause serious traffi c accidents. According to Arizona law, "A person shall not drive or move a vehicle on a highway unless the vehicle is con- structed or loaded in a manner to prevent any of its load from drop- ping, sifting, leaking or otherwise escaping from the vehicle." (A.R.S. 28-1098.A). According to the Arizona Depart- ment of Public Safety, violators could be charged with a class two misdemeanor and the fi nes, plus court costs, can range from $460 to well over $1,000, depending on injuries. Keep Quartzsite beautiful
