GivingTuesday is a global gen- erosity movement unleashing the power of radical generosity. YUMA, AZ – GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. To celebrate Giving Tuesday in the month of November the Yuma Community Food Bank will be hosting several campaigns and events in support of our mission. •Thanksgiving Meal Food Drive now through November 18, 2022. •Giving Tuesday Takeover at the Pint House, Tuesday, November 29, 2022 •Thanking our supporters, and encouraging action. •Fundraising for our organization with a Matching Fund Campaign. •Mobilize local community groups to "Pledge to Help End Hunger". •Collaborate with Community Groups for Challenge Competi- tions Yuma Food Bank global giving •24 Hours of Gratitude Social Me- dia Campaign on 11/29/2022. It's a simple idea: whether it's mak- ing someone smile, helping a neigh- bor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving some of what we have to those who need our help, every act of generosity counts and everyone has something to contribute toward building the better world we all want to live in. The GivingTuesday Data Com- mons estimates that 35 million adults participated in many ways on GivingTuesday 2021 in the U.S., a 6% increase over 2020. Giving in the United States alone totaled $2.7 billion representing a 9% increase compared to GivingTuesday 2020, and a 37% increase since 2019. With unprecedented levels of giv- ing in 2020, these totals represent a signifi cant continued trend of in- creased generosity. Each month the Yuma Community Food Bank feeds more than 20,000 individuals. This represents over 240,000 visits to the Food Bank annually which are the population working at or above minimum wage jobs and continuing to struggle to feed themselves, their children, and their families. Our families need us to continue what we do and to be there every step of the way. In order to main- tain services the Yuma Community Food Bank accepts donations in terms of food, funds, and time. The Yuma Community Food Bank has no needs or wants...our community has families that do. TOGETHER WE FEED Southwest Arizona... We encourage our community members to reach out and get in- volved in one or all of the activities listed. For more information visit our website yumafoodbank.org.
