SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 12 CHILI COOKOFF DIRTBAG ALES 7 a.m. Help the Heritage Square Historical Soci- ety by going to their first annual yard sale. Find great deals on furniture, household items, toys, books and many other things, while helping preserve these wonder- ful historic buildings. The yard sale will be a fundraiser for the Historical Society in order to preserve the Sandford House and the Oval Ballroom on Dick Street downtown. The Heritage Square Historical Society is the former Fayetteville Women's Club. GREAT DAY PERFORMANCE 1801 SEABROOK ROAD 5 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Come enjoy the Fayetteville State Univer- sity Concert Choir as they perform "Great Day." The significance of this spiritual reminds us that the righteous are marching. We are preparing for an upward movement, as we are keepers of the Flame as our lantern signifies. "ON THE HOMEFRONT" EXHIBIT MUSEUM OF THE CAPE FEAR 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. This special exhibit, "Heroes Homecoming: On the Homefront," will explore the heroes at home through thematic panels including Honor, Bravery, Courage and Sacri- fice. Discover how families and civilians have worked to support the military by focusing energy at home. The exhibit will be on display on the second floor of the Museum of the Cape Fear, located at 801 Arsenal Avenue, throughout November. TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 15 THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 10 LAST OF THE 367TH INFANTRY ASOM 6 p.m. There will be a book signing and showing of the documentary "The Last of the 357th Infantry." Meet documentary producer Mark Hager, who is also the author of "The Last of the 357th Infantry: Harold Frank's WWII Story of Faith and Courage." World War Two veteran, Harold Frank, who is 98 years old, will be their special guest that evening. The event is free, but you must register to attend. The USO NC Sandhills team will host a Recipe Swap and Binder making party at their Fort Bragg USO Center in Fort Bragg. Due to space limitations, this event is for adults only. If you received a binder last month, please bring a handwritten recipe on one of your recipe cards. New bin - ders will be provided to those that haven't attended before! Mocktails and light refreshments will be provided. This is open to all Active Duty military spouses including Reservists and National Guard.
