FIJI Jayhawker 2 O ur Chapter has been through a very trying year that has seen an incredible amount of self-reflection about what we feel it means to be a Pi Deuteron FIJI. Through the ups and downs, we have worked to meet each challenge as it presents itself while always looking toward the future of what our Fraternity means to each one of us. We have directed our focus on how we can exalt our founding principles to make them a living image of our values that will continue to shape the lives of young men for years to come. A large part of the change is based on the Built to Lead program, which our Chapter is among the first in the country to implement. The cornerstone of the Built to Lead program is to facilitate an education process that begins the moment you move into 1540 Louisiana and continues for the remainder of your college experience. The program first instills essential knowledge, such as practical study skills and how our Fraternity organization works. Once a base foundation is established, Built to Lead aims to foster the development of each Brother in the essential character and knowledge necessary of a member of Phi Gamma Delta. Skills such as how to write a professional email, how to create a good résumé, etiquette at a formal dinner, and how to do basic car repairs are all points included in our new program. We feel confident that this combination of college and practical life skills creates a well-rounded man. I am confident that the dedicated engagement of our undergraduate Chapter and the incredible support our Graduate Brothers will propel Pi Deuteron to heights it has never seen before.
