F
N
ancy McRight's professional background
includes work as a reading specialist in
grades K-12 in public education in Mississippi.
She became an advocate for those who had
dropped out of school and were looking to better
themselves. In 2002, she joined the workforce
development staff at Holmes Community
College, where she served for 15 years. During
that time, she also served as The Attala Center
director for Holmes Community College.
Upon her completion of 30 years in education in
the state of Mississippi, she entered the corporate
world as program manager and educational
consultant with a virtual education provider for
K-12 schools in Mississippi and Arkansas. This
position provided hands-on assistance to district
personnel and their students using the programs.
Nancy's years in the community college
arena allowed her opportunities to work with
individuals from various backgrounds spanning
from those without high school diplomas to
military and political dignitaries. She has
given back through Rotary International as a
member and assistant district governor. Her
commitment to helping veterans and members
of the Mississippi Army National Guard led her
to become a volunteer, helping service members
and their families at job fairs, Yellow Ribbon
events, and college registrations.
She served as board member and state
president for the adult education professional
organization, Mississippi Association of Adults
in Community Education. She is an alumna
of Alpha Delta Chapter of Phi Mu here at the
University of Mississippi. She is also a member
of Oxford University United Methodist Church.
Nancy brings to Sigma Chi leadership, energy, and
a passion to serve, and she looks forward to serving
the members and alumni of our brotherhood.
