T8 WHATS UP! October 30 - November 5, 2022 BY RAYE SMITH TV Media WHAT'S NEW ON PRIME "My Policeman" (2022) On Friday, Nov. 4, the highly an- ticipated new romantic drama "My Policeman" makes its streaming premiere on Prime. Telling a story of forbidden love amongst a landscape of chang- ing social conventions, "My Po- liceman" follows young police- man Tom (Harry Styles, "Dunkirk," 2017), teacher Mari- on (Emma Corrin, "The Crown") and museum curator Patrick (David Dawson, "The Last Kingdom") as they embark on an emotional journey in 1950s Britain. After meeting on a beach during the summer, Mari- on is immediately enchanted by Tom and the two begin a rela- tionship. But when Patrick be- comes fast friends with the cou- ple, a burgeoning love between himself and Tom complicates matters even further. As the young trio falls into a romantic triangle that will change their lives forever, a flash forward to the 1990s finds them all reeling with longing and regret. As the pieces of their fallout are re- vealed, the older Tom (Linus Roache, "Homeland"), Marion (Gina McKee, "Notting Hill," 1999) and Patrick (Rupert Ever- ett, "My Best Friend's Wedding," 1997) have one more chance to repair the damage from their past and move forward together. Based on the 2012 novel of the same name by Bethan Roberts, "My Policeman" is directed by Michael Grandage ("Genius," 2016) and features a screenplay by Ron Nyswaner ("Home- land"). Kadiff Kirwan ("The Stranger"), Emily John ("Dig Ophelia Dig," 2020), Dora Davis ("The King's Man," 2021), Joseph Potter ("Casualty"), Freya Ma- vor ("Industry"), Richard Cant ("Mary Queen of Scots," 2018) and Maddie Rice ("Every Blank Ever") also star. WHAT'S NEW ON HULU "God Forbid: The Sex Scandal That Brought Down a Dynasty" (2022) Delve into the details of one couple's high-profile scandal when the documentary "God Forbid: The Sex Scandal That Brought Down a Dynasty" pre- mieres Tuesday, Nov. 1, on Hulu. In August 2020, Reuters brought accusations of a years- long affair between Becki Til- ley, the wife of evangelical lead- er and former Liberty Universi- ty president Jerry Falwell Jr., and Giancarlo Granda, a pool attendant the pair had met in Miami in 2012. However, it wasn't until the spring of this year that Falwell Jr. and Tilley admitted to the affair, despite Granda insisting that Falwell Jr. was involved in the relationship from the beginning. Told large- ly from Granda's perspective, "God Forbid" details the pool attendant's experience "trapped in a seven-year affair with a charming older woman and her husband ... as he becomes in- creasingly entangled with the Falwell's seemingly perfect lives" (per Hulu). Executive produced by Adam McKay ("Vice," 2018) and Todd Schul- man ("The Invisible Pilot," 2022) of HyperObject, and Al- fred Spellman and Billy Corben (both of "Cocaine Cowboys: The Kings of Miami") for Ra- kontur, the documentary is di- rected by Corben. WHAT'S NEW ON NETFLIX "Enola Holmes 2" (2022) The game is afoot once more! A new mystery comes to Netflix when "Enola Holmes 2" pre- mieres Thursday, Nov. 3. Fresh off the high of solving her first- ever case, Enola Holmes (Millie Bobby Brown, "Stranger Things"), enterprising younger sister to the famous detective, Sherlock Holmes (Henry Cavill, "The Witcher"), follows in her brother's footsteps and opens her very own detective agency. But Enola quickly finds out that starting her own business — es- pecially as a single young wom- an in late 19th-century London — is anything but easy. Ready to give up entirely, Enola's luck seems to turn around when a penniless matchstick girl comes to her with a job: find her miss- ing sister. As the case unravels and proves to be more puzzling than anyone could have expect- ed, Enola calls upon the help of her friends and her famous brother to solve the mystery. Based on the young adult mys- tery books series by Nancy Springer, which is itself in- spired by the characters and stories of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, "Enola Holmes 2" is di- rected by Harry Bradbeer ("Fleabag") and features a screenplay by Jack Thorne ("His Dark Materials").
