MOVE-IN DAY! The women of the Alpha Delta Chapter have had a great beginning to their fall semester. Our in-house members moved into the Pink Palace between August 4-7; on August 7, many members attended a PHA Pizza Party hosted by the Panhellenic Executive Board, and we celebrated the kick-off to Work Week and recruitment with all the other Panhellenic chapters on campus. RAMPING UP FOR RECRUITMENT Work Week ran through August 12, and all our sisters put in lots of effort and planning to ensure we had the smoothest recruitment possible. This was also a perfect time to strengthen our relationships with each other before welcoming our new members. We held recruitment from August 13-19 and welcomed our 74 new members on our tennis-themed Bid Day, The Perfect Match, on August 20. On August 21, members participated in two sisterhood events, including an afternoon of games, bowling, and bonding at Level Up in Columbia, followed by an evening fireside barbecue at the chapter facility. These two days were full of fun, and we were happy to give our new sisters one of their first lifelong Alpha Delta memories. BONDING IS THE BEST Alpha Delta continues to be one of the best sisterhoods around! Throughout the semester, we held or plan to hold more sisterhood events, including yoga in September, spooky sisters in October, Friendsgiving in November, and snacks and treats for finals week in December. Any time spent with our sisters is a good time, and we love getting to participate in events both on and off campus to strengthen and celebrate our sisterhood. ACADEMIC ACCOLADES In the spring, our chapter had a 3.5 cumulative GPA. Our members have been working hard to increase our GPA by including additional study hours into their weekly schedules, and we hope to see our grades continue to rise this fall. We have seen a difference thus far, and we hope to keep this positive trend in the semesters to come.
