M oving back to campus this August was a little different with our new Chapter House. The facility holds 48, and we had 48 members move in the week of August 15-19. It took a lot of organization and cooperation from everyone involved. Undergraduates used SignUpGenius online to select a time and date by the hour (between 10 a.m.- 6 p.m., Monday through Friday). An alumnus greeted them in the lobby and then joined them to meet House Director Matt Seremet, who fingerprinted each person (for access to the three exterior doors), gave them their unique keypad codes for their bedroom, and handed out parking permits. The alumnus then escorted actives and parents to their rooms, had them verify the keypad code, and helped check their rooms to ensure everything was in order. Thanks to Phil White '65, Ralph Talmage '71, Scott Deubner '70, Scott Saffell '78, Dave Hammond '65, and Joseph Chinnici III, Cincinnati '92 for their help! All went smoothly. We had enthusiastic comments from several parents who were ranting and raving about the Beta facility. Some examples: "Thanks, Joe! Matt's loving his first few days in the house!" –Isabel Vazquez "Kurt and I moved our sons, Robert and Michael, into the Beta House last Wednesday. We had a wonderful tour with Dave and your son. What a fabulous house for all of the guys. I know they are going to have a great year; the excitement of being together was everywhere! Our boys wouldn't even let us take them to the store to get last-minute needs/wants; they wanted to catch up with their brothers. Thank you very much for your hard work and communication.
