Still working on the porch concerns. The 2022 holiday season is soon ap- proaching, and we are getting ready with many special events. Have you ever thought of becom- ing a volunteer bell ringer? You can select your day, time, and location. 100% of funds collected through this campaign stay in our local commu- nity. There is a simple application to complete. Stop in and see me. Our Red Kettles will be out the day after Thanksgiving around Quartzsite. We also have two programs for chil- dren. For those families needing a lit- tle extra help making the true mean- ing of Christmas happen, we have our Angel Tree program. This is an assistance application process that starts November 1st, with a phone call interview. (See flyer Page 23) We hope to have names on the Angel Tree for our amazing Angel Tree shop- pers the week of Thanksgiving, Tuesday, the 22nd. We know many of you like to shop for kiddos at the Friday sales. The second Christmas event is for all children of Quartzsite and the sur- rounding area, is our Annual Santa Event. This year it will be held on Friday, December 23rd, 9:00AM to 1:00PM. Details to follow next month. A large THANK YOU to those that donated to our fundraising efforts for the Hero's Memorial Bell Garden plaques. We were able to purchase the Quartzsite Fire department and the Quartzsite Police Depart- ment plagues with these donations. Plaques were presented at the Sep- tember 11, 2022, ceremony along with The Salvation Army plaque. (See photo below.) In honor of Veterans Day, No- vember 11th, we will provide small flags on Novem- ber 10th. Yes, we will con- tinue to require a mask and or a shield when shop- ping with us. We have volunteers with fragile health issues, no win- dows, our aisles are tight, there is no air exchange capability, etc. We will follow the lo- cal health department recommenda- tion; "when indoors wear a mask." We all need to be flexible and loving to each other as we work together in these trying times. Don't give up. Keep working for the good. Keep showing up. Keep giving back. Keep being kind. Keep being brave. Keep caring. Keep trying new things. Keep showing grace. Our world needs you to believe in the good. We all need each other. Give hope to all. Kindness is not an act, it's a reflection of your soul.
