"Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and cre- ates a vision for tomorrow." ~ Melody Beattie DEADLINE : WED. Quartzsite is really hopping now with new and signature events planned in the next few months. The QIA (Quartzsite Improve- ment Assoc.) is opening October 31st with a full schedules of events, and Roadrunners Gem & Mineral Club is ready for gemstone cre- ations. The Senior Center & QIA will soon be holding Bingo games. Craft Fairs are also beginning and of course, the popular music jams at local RV Parks are just getting started. Add some yard sales, new and returning vendors opening up all around town, and Quartzsite is fi lling up with "Happy Campers!" Quartzsite sure is a quirky place and each year folks seem to compare it to previous years. I'm not sure if it's fear of the unknown, but I do know we can get caught up in uncertainty very quickly. I'm fully aware that our world is full of anger, frustra- tion and fear, however focusing on those emotions just breeds more of the same. However, Gratitude and Peace of Mind breeds more of the same, so... just sayin'! Gratitude is actually a shortcut to fi nding peace of mind. There's al- ways going to be something to be angry or sad about, but if we let it run our lives, we lose out on all the joy of being alive! Count your blessings, enjoy family and new friends, and share your bounty with others. If you're hav- ing a hard time fi nding gratitude, just start a list with maybe recog- nizing you have 10 toes, 10 fi ngers, 2 eyes, 2 feet, 2 hands, kindness of strangers, having a few coins in your pocket, and go from there. It is really pretty simple. Now, get out there and share your gratitude with others. Remember, focus on the journey, not the des- tination. Well, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it. Hope you're having an awesome day! "If not, fake it until you make it!" Keep 'em guessing! "You could Be Anywhere, Doing Anything, and You are Here Doing This, Thank You" ~ Robert Greygrass (thank you from me too!) Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it. ~ William Arthur Ward
