They will address the importan- ce of an informed voter and will be discussing the Vote Yes Referendum. Special guest speakers will include Board of Elections member Irene Grimes, Vote Yes committee member Ted Mohn, and Vote No committee member Adam Beyah. This event is free and open to the public. SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 24 $1000 POETRY SLAM ARTS COUNCIL 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. There are more than 14 hands-on, interac- tive exhibits and demonstrations at the 2022 Wildlife Expo. It's a great way to learn more about the natural environment and the important roles that hunting and fishing play in fish and wildlife conservation. Activities include: shooting a BB gun, shooting a bow, boating safety, test duck and goose calls, aquatic insects, go kayaking, and more. NEW MOON MEDITATION CLASS PRIMA ELEMENTS 7:30 p.m. New moon is a time of new beginnings, a time for reflection, a time to decide which direction we wish to go. SUICIDE PREVENTION TEAM DAY FORT BRAGG 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. In honor of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, the Fort Bragg BOSS Program is "reaching out" by having a team-building awareness day to build cohesion among service members. There will be a team luncheon at Iron Mike Conference Center and morale boosting Escape Room event to help build camaraderie. Open to BOSS service members only. You don't have to pick a pie because both are featured in this wine and pie pairing. Each tick includes one six-inch savory pie and one glass of wine. Couples tickets include two six-inch savory pies, two glasses of wine, and one four-inch savory pie. Playing in the background will be FIGURES. The trio consists of Ben Onguene, Faith Malua, and Hope Malua. They met at Manna Church and bonded over their love for music and ministry. DooDas Doodles will display their eclectic mix of paintings which are from the Nunez's family inspirations. 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 26 SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 24 WORKSHOP IV: SHAKESPEARE CAPITOL ENCORE ACADEMY 11 a.m. Educators, actors, directors and those simply interested in learning a bit more about theatre in general, join Sweet Tea Shakespeare as they host the raucous and radical Rick Blunt, veteran of the American Shakespeare Center Resident and Touring companies, for a series of workshops ranging from audition technique to scene study. This workshop will focus on Shakespeare 101. Tickets can be bought at https://sweetteashakespe - are.com/rick-blunt-educator-acting-workshop-fay-nc/. 2022 WILDLIFE EXPO 7489 RAEFORD ROAD 7:30 p.m. – 10 p.m. Join the Southeastern Regional NC Po- etry Festival for their tenth and final poetry festival. In this final event, 12 poets will compete for a $1,000 prize. Though rules vary from slam to slam, the basic rules are: Each poem must be of the poet's own construction; Each poet gets three minutes (plus a ten-second grace period) to read one poem. If the poet goes over time, points will be deducted from the total score; and the poet may not use props, costumes or musical instruments. Of the scores the poet received from the five judges, the high and low scores are dropped and the middle three are added together, giving the poet a total score of 0-30. SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 24 FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 23 FIESTA LATINA DOWNTOWN FAYETTEVILLE 6 p.m. With music, dance, food and traditional Latin products, the 4th Friday Fiesta Latina celebrates diversity and inclusion, honoring Hispanic culture. The Cool Spring Downtown District's 4th Friday in Downtown Fayetteville will partner with Latinos United for Progress and the Arts Council of Fayetteville. In addition to performances and shows, food trucks, trolley rides, stores, restaurants, and other entertainment, there will be more than 50 vendors and so much more fun.
