Wood began her real estate career 33 years ago and sees generational change as younger buyers with families are moving to Venice. She also has witnessed how technology has had an impact on her profession. "Although the internet is very important in today's world, nothing replaces experience and professional knowledge." First she was a nurse. Then she ran a memory care unit, a large assisted-living facility and multiple other properties, before deciding to "semi-retire" and accept the executive director position at Aston Gardens, 15 years ago.
