DesCriPtion: Visit the oklahoma aquarium in tulsa, oK. the oklahoma aquar- ium is a 72,000-square-foot public aquarium built in 2002 and opened on May 28, 2003, in Jenks, a southern suburb of tulsa. it is the larg- est aquarium attraction in the four-state area. the oklahoma aquarium is home to the world's largest exhibit of bull sharks which you can ex- plore in the unique, walk-through tunnel. You can also see their loggerhead sea turtles, zebra sharks, humphead wrasse and tuna. as of 2020, the aquarium has more than 500 species and 10,000 animals. Join BJ garrett, a certifi ed hospice & Palliative Care nurse who teaches in the eleanor Mann school of nursing at the Meet the New Dean: Dr. Kate Mamiseishvili Dr. Kate Mamiseishvili was named the interim dean of the College of Education and Health Professions on June 30. She's excited to be back in the college in this leadership role. "It's such a privilege to be able to serve in this capacity with the college that has meant so much to me," Dr. Mamiseishvili said. "I look forward to continuing to serve our students, faculty and staff and advancing our academic goals." Dr. Mamiseishvili served as the associate dean for academic and student affairs in the college from 2017-2021. She was most recently the U of A interim vice provost for academic affairs. As part of her associate dean duties, Dr. Mamiseishvili coordinated academic operations of the college, including accreditation and program reviews, academic planning, curriculum management, faculty affairs, student success and academic integrity. In 2013, she was appointed head of the Department of Rehabilitation, Human Resources, and Communication Disorders, leading a unit composed of seven academic programs and the Speech and Hearing Clinic, with over 40 faculty members and 800 students. Dr. Mamiseishvili joined the U of A in 2008 and is a professor of higher education. In her tenure as a faculty member at the U of A, she was inducted into the Teaching Academy; was awarded the College of Education and Health Professions' Rising S.T.A.R. and S.T.A.R. Faculty Awards for her all-around outstanding performance in teaching, research, advising and service; was recognized as an Outstanding Mentor by the Offi ce of Nationally Competitive Awards; and was selected as a fellow of the SEC Academic Leadership Development Program. Her research has focused on faculty productivity, job satisfaction and student persistence. Dr. Mamiseishvili received her Ph.D. and M.A. in educational leadership and policy analysis from the University of Missouri and a bachelor's degree in English language and literature from the Akaki Tsereteli State University in the country of Georgia.
