Viknisvari Willis, a certified Yoga instructor who teaches at the arkansas Yoga Center, will guide participants in the practice of Yoga, emphasizing that Yoga means union with our mind and body. focus will be on breathing and some meditation tech- niques that help calm the nervous system. DesCriPtion: are laughter and hu- mor universal, or specific to cultures and so- cial contexts? in this course, Jeff nash, Msu emeritus Professor, will explore the varieties of humor, understand the conditions under which people laugh, review explanations of humor and describe the purposes of humor. We practice intention - ally and nonjudgmentally. research shows that this type of meditation, when practiced regularly, can benefit our physical, mental, spiritual, and relational health, not only for ourselves, but for others as well. though space may be limited, this course is open to anyone curious about meditation and the different ways to cul- tivate mindfulness. these sessions will include instruction, interactive learning, guided meditations and how to apply to daily life. to be comfortable meditat- ing, participants can practice seated in a chair, lying down or standing, with some time for gentle movement. Join certified yoga and meditation teacher, nicole ol- mstead, for a 6-week course to learn the basics. all are welcome!
