2 THE IRIS E psilon Mu had some great achievements this year as we got back on track from COVID, and we are excited to share them with you. PHILANTHROPY AND EVENTS We hosted some fun events at the Shelter during recruitment, including sports day, Delt poker, alumni learning, and much more. We partnered with Alpha Chi Omega to host Watermelon Bust— which was back in full force this year—and raised $5,010 for JDRF. In the spring, the new chapter president took on his role and goals were set high to accomplish a total of 50 community service hours at animal shelters. We also held our semesterly sexual assault and alcohol awareness programs for our fraternity. Along with this, we hosted a basketball tournament to raise money for sexual assault awareness in April and donated proceeds to RAIIN. A brother also competed in Mr. Phi, an Alpha Phi contest for singing, which all Ball State Delts attended. Finally, the fraternity conducted a Family Day, which consisted of bowling and fun events afterward at the Shelter. ACADEMICS Success in the classroom continues to be a point of emphasis. After several years of struggles, we've raised our house GPA over the all- men's average with a 2.95 GPA this spring. Fifteen brothers made the Dean's List and brother Alec Yakubik '22 graduated summa cum laude in pre-med with a 3.98 cumulative GPA while living in the Shelter for three years. Thanks to our weekly study hours and an elaborate Excel file with all classes brothers have gotten a B or better in to know where to get help from among brothers, we were able to do much better this year academically. RECRUITMENT In the fall, we recruited 16 new brothers. This spring, four more brothers were added to the brotherhood. Our new sweetheart, Jett Mcclaskey, a Delta Zeta who is part of the Panhellenic Association for sororities, was selected at the end of spring semester. We are excited to welcome her! Overall, Epsilon Mu achieved just about all our goals for the 2021-22 year while taking notes for improvements for next year. Fraternally, Andrew Synko '24 Chapter President Leaders on Campus Leaders on Campus Active Brothers Continue to Make Us Proud A huge congratulations goes to our graduating brothers. We could not be prouder! Game on! Brothers gear up for a dodgeball game at the Shelter.
