MANIFESTO MANIFESTO THE NEWSLETTER FOR ALUMNI AND FRIENDS OF GAMMA UPSILON CHAPTER OF THETA CHI FRATERNIT Y AT BRADLEY UNIVERSIT Y - SPRING 2022 C H A P T E R : t h e t a c h i b u . c o m | A L U M N I : g a m m a u p s i l o n . o r g Rendering of new home Please Stay Tuned for Updates The Future of Gamma Upsilon Thank you all for your patience with the publication of this edition of the Manifesto. We have been very busy and are quite excited about the new concepts for the renovation of the chapter house. I'm including a sneak preview of the front of the house, which you can see is much more dramatic, as it's built up and outward to give us a more prominent look on Fredonia Avenue. However, this is just the tip of the iceberg. We are currently talking with some of our alumni regarding the plans we have for the renovation of our chapter house. The responses have all been very positive. We plan to meet with more alumni individually to get a better idea of whether this is an undertaking that is truly possible or needs to be altered. I am also getting feedback from the undergraduate chapter. After all, they'll be living in the house and maintaining it on a day-to-day basis. They have some other ideas regarding the design, which we will need to take into consideration as we move forward once a budget has been fully established. You can help by providing your feedback on our plans when you are asked. We would also appreciate your help with locating "lost brothers." These are men that we do not have a valid mailing address for. Lastly, you can also help by supporting our annual campaign. Most of our current income comes from rent collected from the chapter, and donations to our annual campaign will be a crucial year for recruitment to maintain our membership numbers. We need to spend some money this summer on basic repairs such as plumbing, landscaping, painting, flooring, etc. to maintain a competitive edge with other fraternities in the fall. Every donation matters and you can support all these efforts and more today by visiting gammaupsilon.org and clicking "Support the Campaign." Our young undergraduate chapter is doing great, but we will still need a strong recruitment this fall to keep their momentum going. Their grades are high, the house is looking clean, and they are active on campus. With the pandemic fading away and life getting closer to normal, we have a lot to be excited about. Thank you, everyone, for all your continued support over the last couple of years while we have been separated. I look forward to seeing you at upcoming events! With that said, I'm proud to announce Dave Jensen '18 to the board as Director of Fundraising and Alumni Relations. You can say Dave has a great résumé as the student body President and the Homecoming King. You can read more about him in the article for his announcement. He is working on setting our new goals and a plan to achieve them and its great to have new blood to liven things up! Thank you for your patience over the last couple of years with this pandemic. We look forward to Ken Lombard '99, our new Director of Events, providing some interesting new activities for us to meet in person once again! Fraternally, Marty Deering '89 President, Gamma Upsilon Alumni Corporation
