A main emphasis of the visits was increasing co-sponsors for two freedom of association bills in the House of Representatives: (1) the Freedom of Association in Higher Education Act (FAHE) (H.R. 7488), sponsored by Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY); and (2) the Collegiate Freedom of Association Act (CFAA) (H.R. 6978), sponsored by Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ/Sigma Chi). FAHE now has six co-sponsors, and CFAA has four co-sponsors. Greek leaders are continuing to build support for introducing this legislation in the Senate as well. In addition, the April 27 visits continued to focus on gaining sponsors for two anti-hazing bills: (1) the END ALL Hazing Act (H.R. 1933/S.775), sponsored by Rep. Lucy McBath (D-GA/Delta Sigma Theta) and Senators Bill Cassidy (R-LA) and Bob Casey (D-PA); and (2) REACH (H.R. 2525/S. 744), sponsored by Rep. Lucy McBath (D-GA) and Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN). END ALL Hazing now has 13 House and nine Senate sponsors, while REACH has 36 House and eight Senate sponsors. Finally, Greek leaders remain committed to pursuing support for the Collegiate Housing and Infrastructure Act (CHIA) (H.R. 2421/S. 2653). The lead sponsors for this bill are Rep. Stephanie Murphy (D-FL/Chi Omega) and Bran Wenstrup (R-OH/Sigma Alpha Epsilon) in the House, and Senators Ben Cardin (D-MD/Pi Lambda Phi), Roy Blunt (R-MO/ Kappa Alpha Order), and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV/Kappa Kappa Gamma). CHIA now has 22 sponsors in the House and six in the Senate. Fraternally, Kevin O'Neill, ΛXA Executive Director Fraternity Sorority Political Action Committee Spring 2022 Legislative Update
