Political Action Committee generations of student leaders 3 We need your support NOW so we can make strategic investments in campaigns BEFORE the primary. THE FRATERNAL EXPERIENCE IS NOT GUARANTEED Fraternities and sororities are under attack on campuses across the country. The positive experience you had during your college days is not guaranteed for future generations. This is why we are fighting so hard to ensure we elect candidates who understand the tremendous value our members offer their campus communities as student leaders, scholars, and philanthropists. Join me in renewing your financial support of FSPAC and ask one of your brothers or sisters from your organization to get involved too. Interfraternally yours, Maureen Calloway Carnevale, AΔΠ Vice President, Fundraising A s all members of the Greek community will recall, our membership experiences are based on the value of leadership, service, and community. As members of the Greek community, we are all challenged to find ways to positively impact the diverse stakeholders within our individual ecosystems. This has certainly been my experience as a member and volunteer at Delta Sigma Phi. Over the last decade, I have found FSPAC to be a similarly valued proposition. It is an opportunity to lead our undergraduate members in civic engagement at the highest levels. It provides a path for us to show the world the positive aspects of the Greek experience. Ultimately, our advocacy is necessary to ensure our values and collegiate experience have the opportunity to continue. If we collectively stop defending our ecosystem, it will become an endangered way of life. The inter-fraternal friendships I have developed during my FSPAC service have more than covered my financial investment. Personally, I believe our individual investments—for the collective value of all members of the Greek community—will pay dividends for decades to come! I am very proud to be a small part of the movement to provide certainty of the Greek experience for generations to come. M y leadership and life skills have been influenced by three organizations: my church, the Future Farmers of America (high school), and Alpha Omicron Pi (college). Navigating college and becoming an adult with my AOΠ sisters was an experience that I want available for all generations to come. I want to protect single-sex organizations now more than ever! The Freedom of Association Act (H.R. 6978) provides protections to prevent universities from destroying single-sex organizations like my sorority, despite the efforts we've seen in the news lately. I fully support this bill and am hopeful we will see it through to the finish line in 2022! Another reason I support FSPAC, and probably the most important, has to do with hazing. When my son was a freshman in college going through fraternity recruitment, a young man died of alcohol poisoning on pinning night. I will never forget that night … lying awake, wondering if my son was the young man to which the news alert in his college town referred. My heart aches for that young man's parents to this day. Anti-hazing legislation is going to happen with or without the help of FSPAC. By coming to the table and partnering with anti-hazing organizations, we can help direct the narrative to not only regulate Fraternities and Sororities, but also every student organization on a college and high school campus. No parent should lose a child to any sort of hazing incident. We can, and must, do better. Why We Give Christopher S.
