WEDNESDAY, MAY 25 MEDITERRANEAN COOKING CLASS CUMBERLAND COUNTY CENTER 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Eating like those who live in the Mediter- ranean region has been shown to promo- te health and decrease risk of many chronic diseases. Attendees will watch a cooking demonstration and take home a few recipes. FRIDAY, MAY 27 MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND RUCK JORDAN SOCCER COMPLEX 10 a.m. Join Resolute Warriors for a ruck along the Cape Fear River Trail. Suggested weight is 35 pounds with plenty of water. THE MONEY BOX WORKSHOP 301 HAY ST., THE ARTS COUNCIL 1 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. This is a family event encouraged to teach youth about money through the arts. Co- hosts Crystal McLean and Kishanna Hey- ward plan to teach in a fun atmosphere at the Fayetteville Arts Council, and each participant will design and create their own "money box" which will also show- case their vision board. While the children are creating money masterpieces, the adults will have the ability to learn about money concepts that are relevant to them (i.e., credit establishment & rebuilding, budget creation, debt management, real estate investing, and more). This event is targeted towards children 7 to 14 years old and the parents/guardians of those children. Parents admission is free, and the cost is $12 per youth. Food will be provided. Free resources will be given to participants. In this class Leaf of Life's Lauren Tyler will cover the proper way to root plant clippings of these plants, sowing seeds of health. Tickets are $30 for members and $35 for non-members.
