This event is hosted by Infinite Art Studio NC and is priced at $20 per person and attendees will be supplied with everything needed to create a masterpiece. THURSDAY, MAY 19 TAP ON THURSDAY WINTERBLOOM TEA 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Winterbloom Tea, in collaboration with Poetry-N-Motion, are finally bringing to you TAP (Tea And Performance) on Thu- rsday. This is an exclusive event that will happen every third Thursday of the month. If you are a poet, comedian, songwriter or musician, you are invited to come out for this awesome event. Poetry-N-Motion specializes in spoken word and poetry. Through the gift of spoken word and writing, they engage the community through empowerment and personal development. Offering writing workshops, mentoring and also event hosting/planning. Their mission is to serve as a change agent to provide an alternative for individuals who are faced with challenging situations where a different outlet can be utilized to decrease and/or diffuse the emotional distress. SATURDAY, MAY 21 SANDHILLS M.A.D.E. MARKET SWEET VALLEY RANCH 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Sweet Valley Ranch has partnered with Sustainable Sandhills. The Sandhills MADE Market will feature locally grown fruits, vegetables, meat, food trucks, crafts and more. CAPE BEARD'S PIG PICK'N FORT BRAGG HARLEY DAVIDSON 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. The 10th Annual Pig Pickin for Autism is an outdoor event that will include local ven- dors, live music, a fire truck on display, a dunk tank, $5 BBQ plates which include BBQ, slaw, and beans and much more! This family-friendly event has raised over $85,800 since its inaugural event on May 12th, 2012. Admission is free. All funds from this event will be donated to the Autism Society of Cumberland County. The Autism Society of Cumberland County is committed to providing support and promoting opportunities that en- hance the lives of individuals within the autism spectrum and their families. They strive to create a community where people within the autism spectrum and their families receive respect, services and support, based on individual differences, needs and preferences. TAI CHI CAPE FEAR BOTANICAL GARDEN 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Practice this flowing eastern exercise with instructor Rich Martin while overlooking the garden. Tai chi short for T'ai chi ch'üan or Tàijíquán sometimes also known as "Shadowboxing" is an internal Chinese mar- tial art practiced for defense training, health benefits and meditation. Tai chi has practitioners worldwide. Many forms are practiced, both traditional and modern. Most modern styles trace their development to the five traditional schools: Chen, Yang, Wu (Hao), Wu, and Sun. All trace their historical origins to Chen Village. This event is held every Tuesday. indoors or outside depending on the weather. Prices are $15 per class or $17 for garden members. Registration can be com- pleted by visiting the gift shop. TUESDAY, MAY 24 SATURDAY, MAY 21 CHALK THE WALK DOWNTOWN FAYETTEVILLE 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Add a pop of color, an inspirational mess- age or creative doodles to the sidewalks. The Downtown Alliance will have designa- ted chalking areas, and businesses who are participating will have chalk outside for you. Grab some chalk and create a little sidewalk art for all to appreciate as they stroll through downtown. Make sure you stop in and visit the rescheduled Nerd Market at The Arts Council while you are downtown. Come chalk the walk, and don't forget to eat, shop and play. 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. SATURDAY, MAY 21 THURSDAY, MAY 19 PRAY FOR PEACE CONCERT SNYDER MEMORIAL BAPTIST CHURCH 7 p.m. Show your support for the people of the Ukraine by attending this fundraiser concert at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church located at 701 Westmont Drive in Fayetteville. Sacred and classical music will be presented by soprano Alina Cher- kasova from Ukraine. She will be accompanied by pianist Anastasia Bryant from Russia. MEDIEVAL DANCE IN THE PARK HONEYCUTT PARK 1 p.m. The Canton of Attilium is part of the Bar- ony of Windmasters' Hill in Fayetteville, NC, a chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism. The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) is an international living history group with the aim of studying and recreating mainly Medieval European cultures and their histories before the 17th century. The group is hosting a Medieval Dance in the Park. Learn about and participate in Medieval dance with a group well-versed in its history. SUNDAY, MAY 22
