CELEBRATING 130 YEARS OF BETA PI
Bob Stein '69 displays his College Football
Hall of Fame plaque at the induction dinner.
O
ur Beta Theta Pi Society of Minnesota is in a good
financial standing with a healthy cash position. We are
thankful for the generous contributions of our alumni, which
have been extremely helpful in supporting recent projects at
the house and helping us avoid more debt.
After simplifying our finances over the last few years, we can
meet our monthly obligation toward our mortgage and the
UMN Greek loan. Additionally, we can grow our cash cushion
as we look forward to making additional upgrades to the chapter
house. We currently have $40,000 in our bank accounts, and
$3,800 in funds managed by the Beta Theta Pi Foundation.
We hold $515,000 in long-term debt, consisting of a
mortgage balance of $240,000, and around $275,000 from
the UMN Greek loan from the University of Minnesota
Foundation. We have no short-term debt.
The biggest challenge has come from the changing COVID-
19 restrictions and the ability to have all members live in the
house. We worked with our chapter to ensure that we are not
placing additional financial pressure on our active brothers.
We are also flexible when a financial situation arises and find
solutions that are ultimately beneficial for our active members
and those who live in the house.
Thank you for your support of our alumni society and the
work we do to maintain our historic chapter house. It forever
remains our focus to provide a safe and maintained home for
our undergraduate Beta brothers.
Yours in __kai__,
