P A G E 3 | N O T E S O F T H E L Y R E Rock Chalk Revue Directors the night they found out they made it into the competition! From left: Emily Kempen '19, Rosie Pennington '20, and Mia Aronson '19. Elections November was an exciting month here at Phi Chapter! At the time of the last update, Phi was in the middle of election season; new officers were elected and turned over in early November. The team is working together well and has taken full ownership of their new positions. Later in the month, we hosted a fun semiformal at the Kane Family Farm. To top it all off, Alpha Chi Omega partnered with Delta Tau Delta to compete for entry into KU's annual Rock Chalk Revue competition. We made it alongside only five other chapter pairings. Congratulations, ladies! Finals and Festivities To end the fall 2021 semester, Phi Chapter had a disco-themed date party in early December. The chapter also hosted a holiday sisterhood event with a secret Santa gift exchange, cookies, and hot chocolate planned by our new VP of membership programming, Stella Shotkoski '20. The women of Phi Chapter were encouraged to study hard for finals with Starbucks gift cards sent out by our new VP of intellectual development, Katie Flood '20. Healthy Relationship Awareness The spring 2022 semester has been a blast. After our first chapter meeting back in town, the women were encouraged to catch up with each other over hot cocoa in the dining room. February 7-11 was Healthy Relationships Week, and Phi Chapter tabled on campus to pass out purple ribbons, pens, and stickers to spread awareness. On February 11, Phi Chapter hosted a Valentine's Day-themed date dash at Slice of History. After chapter on February 15, our sisters made care packages to donate to the Willow. We also want to recognize our talented sister, Greta Green '21, who sang the national anthem at a KU men's basketball game. Recruitment Informal recruitment is going well, as we already have three new members: Alyssa Knapton '21, Bailey Culberston '21, and Jenna Thomas '21. We are continuing our coffee dates in hopes to add at least four more women to the new member class. Informal Bid Day is scheduled for March 4, and everyone in the chapter is getting excited! More to Come! Phi Chapter has a lot of fun events planned. Our annual Burgers and Fries with Alpha Chi's philanthropy event is scheduled for March 2 and is being planned by our new VP of philanthropy, Anna Cashatt '21. Women's Weekend is coming up the weekend of April 1. Stella is working hard to plan many exciting events for the women of Phi Chapter and the moms, aunts, sisters, and cousins who are invited to attend. Our Red Carnation Formal is scheduled for the end of April. Thank you to our team who is working hard to make this semester great!
