As a Chapter, we have dealt with the obstacles created by the ongoing pandemic, and we are ready to continue growing as a Chapter, as individuals, and as sisters. Amongst the exciting aspects to look forward to in 2022 is the large renovation of our beloved Chapter House. Alpha Delta is adding a third floor to the house; this will optimize study space, lounge areas, and the Chapter room where we collaborate as a sisterhood. With our growing size of over 450 members, we are eager to see the finished product and share the updates with you. Phi Mu continues to excel in countless aspects, including sisterhood, community, and academics. The influential leadership of our executive committee remains vital for our Chapter. The 15 women on the executive committee maintain different areas of our Chapter, serving under the guidance of our Chapter Adviser. We have 16 committees that members can get involved with through Phi Mu. The activities planned and executed by these committees are of immeasurable value to our sisterhood; committee obligations range from creating balloon arches to helping plan ritual ceremonies. Each member's contributions allow us to function efficiently as a sisterhood. Our impact also stretches across campus, as sisters are involved in Ole Miss Ambassadors, Ole Miss Athletics, the Associated Student Body (ASB), the Panhellenic Executive Board, and more. Many of our members hold executive roles in organizations throughout our university. This past fall, Alpha Delta was honored that Mary Calloway Rodgers '21, a freshman maid, was elected as part of Homecoming Court. We're also proud to announce that Alpha Delta Chapter received an Academic Excellence Award at Phi Mu's Officer Academy in Orlando, Florida. Despite the challenges we've endured over the past two years, we are elated to celebrate the accomplishments we make as individuals and as a sisterhood. To get a feel for what it means to be a collegiate member today, I wanted to describe trends I am noticing through all pledge classes. The need for connection and a support system during the pandemic (and college in general) is being met through our sisterhood. I saw many joyous reunions in the dining room when sisters returned from winter break. There is a newfound excitement for in-person classes and in-person events. The more we can interact face-to-face, the stronger our bonds will be. We look forward to hosting an in-person Bonnamu philanthropy event this spring; the last event was held when our 2018 members were freshmen! Perhaps the most exciting event this semester is the Carnation Ball. As many of you know, the Carnation Ball occurs once every four years. We look forward to a spring semester full of friendship and growth as a Chapter. Thank you to all those who have paved the path for our collective success and who continue to support our Chapter.
