ABOUT THE CHAMBER The Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce is committed to improving the local business climate, because we believe that, when your business suc- ceeds, our community also prospers. Our mission statement is short and succinct: To Promote Commerce in Punta Gorda and surrounding areas, for the benefi t of the entire community. The true value of the Chamber lies with its diverse membership made up of both large and small businesses. We have three major events per month — each attract a large crowd for network- ing, so reserve your spot early. Friday Facts: As a member, you will receive a weekly e-news bulletin, titled "Friday Facts," which keeps you up to date on everything we are doing to assist you in your business as well as everything our members are doing individually. This is YOUR opportunity to market yourself to an estimated group of 6,000 local people. "Friday Facts" is a great tool for visitors as well. You can have the e-newsletter delivered to your in-box every week, by adding your name to the subscription list on the homepage of our website www.puntagordachamber.com Business over Breakfast (affection- ately called BOB): For early risers, this gathering on the second Wednesday of the month starts at 7:15 a.m. and lasts approximately one hour which allows you to get to the offi ce on time. These BOBs take place on the second Wednesday of each month (check Chamber Events for full schedule). Networking Luncheons: These are on the fourth Wednesday of each month and are sellouts. Each luncheon has a busi- ness-related theme with a guest speaker who addresses the issue. The meetings begin at 12:30 p.m. and conclude around 2 p.m. and allow time for networking and business promotion. Locations are rotated to local restaurants — check the Chamber's events schedule for the next one. Business After Hours (BAH): The BAHs take place 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month. Attendance is fi lled with potential clients for you, allows more networking and is a very popular and enjoyable evening. The Chamber runs many special semi- nars for its membership. Each seminar is designed to assist in running a business more effi ciently. Again, check out our Chamber events section. From January to April every Friday, we run a Discover Punta Gorda Trolley tour. This tour takes visitors on a 60-minute trolley trip and also includes a one-hour river boat cruise (weather permitting). A great way for both residents and visitors to see our great city from both land and water! CHAMBER OPPORTUNITIES Joining the Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce is a sound business decision that offers you opportunities to assist in your own business's success. Here are reasons why: 1. Improve your bottom line The more you get involved with your Chamber, the more opportunities you'll get to network and prosper. We actively encourage our members to use other members' services. Everyone needs a plumber, a banker, a landscaper, etc. 2. Find them in your Chamber Member Directory By attending our seminars and events, you'll learn fi rst-hand that others have experienced the same issues and they can share their knowledge. A problem shared is a cost cut in half! We encourage all offi ce visitors to utilize the services of our Chamber members. After all, that is why we are here! Our centrally located offi ces in downtown Punta Gorda are on the corner of Marion and Sullivan and we are the true informational hub of our entire city. 3. Expand your network Each September, attendance to our Annual Dinner and Dance at which the incoming Board of Directors is installed has an attendance of around 300 people. We conduct Business Showcases during the year — to expand our network and encourage new customers to Punta Gorda.
