Gary Zakrajsek Salome, AZ I would like to honor my sister, Kathy Werner, who is 83 years old along with her copilot, John has driven a 40 ft. motorhome all cross country. She is amazing that she can do that at her age. I'm so grateful to have her for my sister. She and her husband live in Quartzsite year- round now. I hope to see her soon and I love her very, very much. Rosemary Polly, Sun City Center, FL. It's that time of year to be aware of counterfeit bills around Quartzsite. Business owners should train their employees to examine all bills they receive, $10 and higher. If they be- lieve they are being given counterfeit money they should call the police. The Secret Service offers a down- loadable PDF called Know Your Money that points out key features to look at to determine if a bill is real or fake: https://www.secretservice. gov/data/KnowYourMoney.pdf If you believe you have received counterfeit money, the U.S. Trea- sury advises you to do the following: Do not put yourself in danger. Do not return the bill to the passer. Observe the passer's description – and their companions' descrip- tions – and write down their vehicle license plate numbers if you can. Contact your local police depart- ment or call your local Secret Ser- vice offi ce. Place it inside a protective cover, a plastic bag, or envelope to protect it. Remember, if you are passed a counterfeit bill, you own it. So when accepting cash, it pays to be knowledgeable about the crime of counterfeiting.
