Mark Drumm '74 and Matthew Drumm '77, and the friends they made during their time in the brotherhood; the strength of their character inspired Tony to follow suit at Missouri S&T. Not only did he create memories and friendships that will last a lifetime during his time in the Chapter House, but he also held the offices of grand procurator and grand master of ceremonies. He was surprised and humbled when he recently received a phone call from Robert Hoffman '78, who told him that he was chosen as one of our new Beta- Chi Hall of Fame inductees. "It was a big surprise to me," Tony said, "especially when I went to school with so many great Brothers in my pledge class that are just as much—or more—deserving of this award than me!" Tony credits Kappa Sigma with the leadership skills, friendships, loyalty, and interpersonal skills that have shaped him personally and professionally. His favorite undergraduate memories are the simple ones: "Just spending endless hours hanging out and finding ways to generate entertainment that would make us laugh all day." In every new job Tony has taken, he has advanced to senior management, and he is thankful to Kappa Sigma for giving him excellent Brothers to learn from. "A lot of the skills and successes in my professional and personal life started with a great learning foundation and experiences at Kappa Sigma, and that prepared me for what was ahead much better than I could have ever imaged." Living in Michigan, Tony has not seen his Brothers as often as he would like. He was, however, neighbors with one at their summer cottages for over 20 years. "We spent many a night on the lake reminiscing and enjoy our memories of our time at Kappa Sigma and Rolla." His advice to today's active Brothers? "Lead by example, not words. Never ask someone to do something that you would not do yourself. Be consistent in your actions, and over time you will always succeed." Tony is married with two children and two stepchildren; all of them still live in Michigan. If you'd like to connect with Tony, he can be reached at txdrumm@yahoo.com.
