ENGLEWOOD ENGLEWOOD 2021 2021 Q: Who has had the biggest influence in your life? A: First, the biggest influence on my life has been my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I cannot fathom a life without a relationship with Him. His Word lights my steps and guides the decisions I make each day. Second is my family. My husband and I raised 6 daughters and they, along with my own large family of siblings, fill my days with joy. Two daughters, Emily and Bethany, work here at Nest with me, too. Being together in the shop each day is so fun! They do so much to make Nest look great for our customers. Their eye for display and skill at social media integration is far superior to my own! I am thankful they are here. Q: Do you have a motto or philosophy that guides you every day? A: One of the verses that guides me daily is from the book of James, "Do not merely listen to the Word and so deceive yourself. Do what it says." I believe that Jesus is the answer to every question and the solution to every problem I have or face. Being a Christian and loving the LORD is a blessing, but obedience to His Word is the ultimate gift I can give back to him and those around me. As long as I have breath, I will seek to have Jesus in every nuance of my life so that others may see Him in me. Q: What advice would you give other women considering going into business? A: Follow your instinct. Be honest with yourself and others - deal honestly with those around you. Work hard but also work smart. We cannot do every element of running a business by ourselves and there is no shame or disgrace in recognizing that your weaknesses are another's strengths. Find and utilize a network of support that are people you trust. Compiled by Nicole Stitz September 2021 Women In Business 45
