Lake Rim Kayak Tours Lake tours are perfect for those trying kayaking for the first time and seasoned paddlers look- ing to relax on the water. All equipment and basic instruction for beginners will be provided. Beginners are recommended to participate in a lake tour before going on a kayak trip. Tours are dependent on the weather. Heroes Homecoming Family Fishing Workshop is event is open to active-duty military personnel and veterans who have served as military medical professionals and their families. is workshop is designed to teach families with children 7 years and older basic skills needed to fish. is workshop is an active hands-on learning experience for all family members to include fishing on the Pechmann Center's stocked ponds. During this three hour workshop, families learn to cast a spin-cast outfit and how to set up a fishing outfit for fishing, to tie basic fishing knots, collect bait and catch a fish. In addition, sustainable catch and release fish- ing methods and proper fish handling will be covered. e event will be held Nov. 13 from 9 a.m. – noon. Thursday Night Live with Johnny Horne Take a close-up look at the moon through the telescope, as Johnny Horne will teach all that he knows about viewing the night sky. Also, you will have the chance to view Jupiter and Saturn in the evening sky, with views of both worlds brought hundreds of times closer with the scope. Come See the Trains Discover the amazing world of trains with the Cape Fear Railroaders Asso- ciation at Fascinate-U. ey will showcase their model trains in the mu- seum's third floor for the delight of children of all ages. Train exhibit is free but paid admission is required to stay and play at the museum. e exhibit will take place Nov. 6 and Nov. 20. Southeast Crab Feast Southeast Crab Fest will offer steamed oysters and all you can eat fresh Blue Crabs. Included in the ticket is one side of fish and chips and one compli- mentary craft beer.
