The BATTLEFIELD SIG theta Chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity at Gettysburg college Fall 2021 O n September 25, many alumni returned to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, to enjoy a beautiful weekend. is weekend served to host three large campus events: the Class of 2020 returned to campus and walked through Penn Hall for their official in-person graduation, the class of 2016 returned for their five-year reunion, and the rest of the campus was welcomed back to enjoy a Homecoming weekend full of tailgates, campus events, football, and all our favorite Gettysburg-area institutions. Meanwhile at 240 Carlisle St., the undergraduates were generous enough to let the House Corporation Board host an event to welcome back our brothers. Brother Noah Fatzinger '18 stayed up all night leading up to the event slow-cooking more pork shoulder and fixings than we could handle the next day (the Fatzinger BBQ is becoming a staple of ΣΧ alumni events for those who feel that they may have missed out). Former House Corporation President Sam Blum '15 and Treasurer High Garst '20 met the guests on the front porch to conduct a dedication ceremony of our memorial placard of Brother Gerry Royals '52 and the newly added brick garden. We thank all those who have donated bricks, and we encourage you to find yours out front on your next visit to campus! To those who would like to be included in the next installment, please contact Kevin Isky '21 at iskyke01@comcast.net. Brothers from the Alpha class have continued to show their commitment to the chapter at nearly every alumni event. Although we can all admit that much has changed since our rechartering, we can all agree that this chapter continues to recruit and graduate leaders of men. A SUCCESSFUL HOMECOMING WEEKEND Brothers Reunited Once Again As for our hosts, the undergraduates continue to impress us with their resilience, character, and welcoming attitudes toward all alumni. Our implicit confidence is placed in them, and we know they will continue the rich tradition of the eta Chapter, on campus and into the post- graduate world. We celebrate our graduates, support our undergraduates, and look forward to the next time we can gather again!
