october 17-23, 2021 What's up! 43 featured dining guide story Advertorial Feature Richard's Country Meat Market: cozy home cooked meals start here By Karen rice | northwest arKansas Democrat-Gazette I t's the season of big Sunday dinners and cozy fall meals and it all starts with delicious meats and seafood. Here in Northwest Arkansas, that means a trip to Richard's Country Meat Market in Fayetteville for the best selection of prime cuts of beef, pork, chicken, lamb, veal, sausage, seafood and more. For nearly 30 years, this old-fashioned meat market has been a Northwest Arkansas icon. "We've been selling a lot of our freezer bundles because people want to load up," owner Richard McGinnis said. "We have five different bundles to chose from: Variety Bundle, Steak Bundle, Smoker Bundle, Deluxe Bundle and Richard's special, plus a 40 lb. frozen pack of ground beef. The prices for the bundles vary week to week " Curbside service available Customers can come into the store but the market plans to continue to offer curbside service, a great time-saving option. "Curbside isn't going away," Richard explained. "We've found that our customers really like the convenience. They can still come inside if they want to. But we also know that some of our customers would rather have the option." Customers can call to place an order ahead of time: 479-443-0000, and give their credit card. The order will be prepared and when the customer drives up, they call another number: 479-521-1464, and their order will be brought out to them. Of course they can also order ahead to save time and come inside to pay when they arrive or come in and look through the case and select their meats like always. Frozen meals and soups And if you don't want to do all the work yourself, Richard's is still offering their delicious frozen foods to go, like lasagna and manicottis. They also feature 12 varieties of homemade soups in quart containers in the freezer, including vegetable beef, chicken noodle, lobster bisque and their gumbos and homemade chili. Holiday meals Later this week, Richard's will begin taking orders for their complete meals for the holidays. Choose from Roasted, Smoked or Cajun whole turkey, a sliced, roasted turkey breast or a sliced ham. Order any of those by themselves, or make it a complete dinner, with rolls, cornbread stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, buttered corn, gravy and a pumpkin pie. Your holidays just got easier and delicious!
