appy fall! We are happy to be back for a, hopefully,
more normal school year. We value the well-being
of our members, so Tau Chapter is continuing the same
sanitizing efforts as last year in hopes of keeping our
collegians and employees happy and healthy.
This year, our biggest change regarding housing is our food
service. After Sharon Thayer's retirement as our cook for
the past 20(!) years, we are now using College Chefs for
our in-house meals. College Chefs is used at many chapters
across the country and acts as an independent contractor in
our house. We've been assigned a personal chef and are very
excited for their service this year.
In other news, the Tau House Corporation Board is seeking
new members. We are hoping to strengthen our board with a
variety of alumnae across pledge classes. If you are interested
in volunteering for this role and you live within an hour or so
of Iowa City, please contact me at alissasabers@gmail.com.

Latest Updates from
Tau Chapter
We asked some of our Tau nurses how the pandemic has changed
their perspective on nursing.
JAN RILEY '76
Clinical Coordinator for
Inherited Eye Disease Service,
University of Iowa Hospitals and
Clinics
In the beginning of the
pandemic, appointments with all
international patients and those
who needed to fly to Iowa were
canceled. Jan's clinic numbers
were pared back to only patients
with diseases that needed closer
surveillance. Luckily, clinics have returned to some form of
normalcy so Jan can continue delivering high-quality care and
research efforts to those with an inherited eye disease.
KELSEY RASMUSSEN '10
Nurse Coordinator, Pediatric
Oncology Survivorship Clinic
Throughout the pandemic,
Kelsey's role has remained the
same as she administers chemo
to pediatric cancer patients. She
encourages everyone to help
their DG sisters in healthcare
(and her patients) by getting
vaccinated.
LAUREN DELZELL '12
RN, BSN, CCRN – Staff Nurse,
IVF Clinic Unit
When the pandemic began,
Lauren was working in the
PICU, where she was shocked
to see otherwise healthy children
require the highest form of life
Thank You, DELTA
