A native of Rutherford County, she is a daughter of the late John C. and Pauline Laughter McKinney. Peggy was a gradu- ate of Washington Lee High School in Arlington, VA and worked for a number of years as a bank teller. She is survived by two children, Cheryl Sterling and Clay Mottern. Peggy is sur- vived by four siblings; J.C. and Kathy McKinney, Judy and James Edney, Luwanda McKinney and Kevin Parchen, Raymond and Linda McKinney as well as a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. No services are sched- uled at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Peggy's honor may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital – www. stjude.org. Sabrina Marie Waters Sabrina Marie Waters, age 27, of Forest City, passed away September 16, 2021. Sabrina was born February 23, 1994 in Rutherford County to Jimmy Ray Spurlock, Jr. & Melinda Walker both of Forest City. She was a homemaker and enjoyed various outdoor activities. She especially loved taking care of her chil- dren & spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her grandpar- ents, Charles Edward Sims, Jimmy Spurlock, Sr. & Alice Mae Fields. In addition to her par- ents, those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Richard Waters; children, EllyMay Marie Spurlock, Jethro John Wayne Spurlock & Daisy Mae Marie Spurlock; step- daughter, Serenity Waters; brother, Patrick Nathaniel Spurlock (Kate) of Rhode Island & grandmother, Dorothy Ann Beck (Mike Wellman) of Shelby. A memorial service was conducted September 20, 2021 at Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Lance Scarlett officiating. June Womack Sims June Womack Sims, age 67 of Forest City, died September 13, 2021. She was born on June 15, 1954, in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Carl and Ruth Cole Womack. June was a graduate of East Rutherford High School, and she received an Associates Degree from Isothermal Community College. She was a member of Florence Baptist Church. In addition to her par- ents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Womack Summey. Survivors include hus- band, David "Andy" Sims, brother, Carl Daniel Womack of Rutherfordton and a host of cousins, close friends, and Andy's family. The funeral service was held September 18, 2021, in The Padgett and King Chapel with Rev. Tonya Garrison officiating. Interment followed in the Eternal Hills Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Florence Baptist Church, 201 S. Broadway St., Forest City, NC 28043. Ronald Dean Connor Ronald Dean Connor, age 74, passed away September 14, 2021. A native of Rutherford County, Ronald was a son of the late Floyd and Maggie Lee Cable Connor. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Steve Connor. Ronald loved life and enjoyed beach music, dancing, golf, college bas- ketball, and many activi- ties offered through The Spindale House. He held a Master's Degree in Business Administration and worked a number of years in man- agement at Spindale Mills. He was also director of the Small Business Center at Isothermal Community College. He is survived by a son, Wesley Connor and wife Jesse; a daughter, Kerrie Connor and husband Jason Davis; 7 grandchildren, one sister, Barbara Freeman and husband Alan; as well as a number of other relatives and friends. Services were held September 18, 2021 at Rutherford County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memo- rial may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, www.kidney.org. Hilda Janet (Brigmon) Mull Hilda Janet (Brigmon) Mull, 82, of Spindale, NC passed away September 13, 2021. Hilda was born September 17, 1938 in Weaverville. She was the only daughter and oldest of four children of the late William Grant Brigmon, Sr and Flossie Alberta (Sprinkle) Brigmon. She was preceded in death by broth- ers William Grant, Jr (wife Joyce) and Carl Eugene Brigmon (wife Dale). She is survived by her youngest brother Timothy Delane Brigmon (wife Beth) of Spindale. Hilda was married to PGA golf profes- sional Leroy Mull who pre- ceded her in death in April 2016. Hilda and Leroy had one daughter, Janet (Mull) Hughes (husband George) of Rutherfordton. Left to cherish her fond memory are twin grand- daughters Madalyn and Mackenzie Hughes. Hilda was employed by the Rutherford County School System for 30 years. A memorial service to honor Hilda's life will be arranged at a future date. Aileen Dobbins Cooper Aileen Dobbins Cooper, age 96, of Forest City, passed away September 17, 2021. Aileen was born May 16, 1925 in Rutherford County to the late Zach Hoyle Dobbins and Ollie Davis Dobbins. She was a homemaker and worked in home healthcare for many years. She was member of the First Baptist Church of Bostic. In addition to her par- ents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Lovelace; grandson, David Henline and nine siblings, J.D. Dobbins, Hazel Bailey, Wilbur Dobbins, Michael Dobbins, Jeanette Gibson, Earl Dobbins, Sybil Rausch, Harold Dobbins and Modine Dobbins. Those left to cherish her memory include her sis- ter, Sue Cooper of Forest City;2 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren. The funeral was held September 22, 2021 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Clay Earle offici- ating. Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family. Sandy Evans Sandy Evans, age 63, of Rutherfordton, passed away September 13, 2021. Sandy was born November 21, 1957 in Herndon, Wyoming County, West Virginia to the late Chesley Monk and Violet Whitt Monk. Sandy worked for Dollar Genera. In addition to her par- ents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda McClaugherty. Those left to cherish her memory include hus- band of 43 years, Darnell Evans; sons, James Evans, Chris Little (Sheila) of Rutherfordton; sisters, Sally Green (Leonard) of West Virginia, Trish Branham of Forest City, Bonnie Greene (Joe) of Virginia; brothers, Earl Monk (Tina), Eugene Monk (Drema) of West Virginia; 3 grandchildren. A gathering of fami- ly and friends was held at Harrelson Funeral Home September 16, 2021. Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family. John Littlejohn III John Littlejohn III, age 44, of Ellenboro, passed away September 14, 2021. John was born December 23, 1976 in Rutherford County to Brenda G. Guffey of Ellenboro and the late John Luther Littlejohn, Sr. He worked for the Rogers Group Incorporated and was a member of Piney Mountain Baptist Church. In addition to his moth- er, those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Tandi Littlejohn; children, Summer Littlejohn, Austin Littlejohn, Jordan Shelton, Zoe Digh, Brysen Rhoads and Colby Seigla; siblings, Diane Tate of Ellenboro, David Baynard (Bobbi) of Gaffney, SC and Tammy Jarhalm of Chicago, IL, 2 two grandchildren, special aunt, Linda Edwards and a host of nieces and neph- ews. A memorial service was held September 19, 2021 at Piney Mountain Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Padgett officiating. Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family. Faron Clyde Murray Faron Clyde Murray, age 63 of Ellenboro, died September 13, 2021. Faron was born April 23, 1958, in Rutherford County and was a son of the late Clyde Marshall Murray and Bonnie Louise Padgett Murray and the step-son of the late Evans Lovelace. Faron was a com- mercial truck driver, and he enjoyed every minute behind the wheel driving for Truck Service of Forest City. He was a member of Vein Mountain Baptist Church. Survivors include his sons, Matthew Murray and Micah Murray both of Ellenboro, his daugh- ter, Michaela Murray of Ellenboro, brothers, Doug Murray of Ellenboro, Neil Murray of Bostic and Robbie Murray of Ellenboro, 5 grandchildren. A graveside service was held September 18, 2021, at Joshua Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Barry Gouge and Rev. Neil Murray officiating. Lee Roy Hutchins Lee Roy Hutchins, age 75, of Spindale; husband of Rose Dyer Hutchins passed away September 14, 2021. Mr. Hutchins was a native of Rutherford County; the son of the late Creed and Ruth Lewis Hutchins and a self-employed auto repairman. In addition to his wife Rose; he leaves to cher- ish his memory his chil- dren Lee Roy Hutchins Jr. of Ellenboro, Jimmie Hutchins of Rutherfordton and Rosalee (Michael) Long of Bostic; 3 grandchildren, one great grandchild; broth- er Billy (Kathy) Hutchins, sisters Dorothy Heavner, Jessie Flow and Mildred (Alvin)Riding.
