T he fall semester at Gamma-Rho was very busy. High Delta Ben Jensen, ΓΡ 2869 signed 57 new associate members. He and his team faced a tough task this past summer as the COVID-19 pandemic forced us to do recruitment 100% virtually. The Chapter is very grateful for their hard work. Although times are uncertain, Gamma-Rho strives for excellence in all categories on and off campus. Our chapter placed second in grades among IFC fraternities last fall with a 3.32 average GPA. Additionally, we are proud to support Relay for Life at the University of Oklahoma. Last year, we raised $20,000 for the American Cancer Society, more than any other campus organization. Furthermore, Gamma-Rho members are active leaders in several campus organizations. We have two members serving as vice chairs for the Relay for Life executive team and 16 others who serve in different roles on the committee. We also have numerous members in Big Brothers Big Sisters, Soonerthon, Crimson Wishes, the JCPenney Leadership Program, President's Community Scholars, and President's Leadership Class. Last spring, High Theta Mart Smith, ΓΡ 2922 planned a successful White Rose Pageant with a contestant from all but one sorority on campus. The event raised $4,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Norman. Mart also organized a canned food drive to benefit the OU Food Pantry, through which the chapter donated more than 1,500 cans last fall. Gamma-Rho secured its 21st intramural championship last spring with the help of Intramural Chairmen Ryan Rasnic, ΓΡ 2870 and Ben Jensen, ΓΡ 2869. We appreciate their hard work and dedication to keep us at the top of intramurals. Ryan also served as High Beta, where he assisted me in numerous house improvements, alumni outreach efforts, and university meetings. I personally want to thank him for his hard work during this time, as Gamma-Rho would not have had as good of a year without his leadership. Lastly, serving as president of Gamma- Rho Zeta has been a true honor and an experience that I will never forget. I would like to give special thanks to Jack Creedon, ΓΡ 2825, Bailey Champagne, ΓΡ 2762, Sam Jackson, ΓΡ 2767, Ben Osborn, ΓΡ 2691, Chris Osborn, ΓΡ 2594, Matt Osborn, ΓΡ 1143, and our Chapter advisor, Tyler Barrett, ΓΡ 2100. Their advice and encouragement have not only given me the ability to succeed, but their wisdom and insight have also benefitted countless others who have walked through the doors of 904 College.
