A s we endure a time of uncertainty, it's important now more than ever to come together as brothers to ensure Sigma Chi's future at the University of Mississippi. I encourage you to reach out to a brother today and support each other during these unusual times. It will do more good than you realize and will keep our Sigma Chi bonds strong. e Sigma Chi values that helped transform us from young men into today's leaders will continue to provide a solid foundation for Eta Chapter, and we owe it to future generations to secure that legacy. Ask yourself: Where would I be without Sigma Chi? Proud to Be a Sigma Chi While we know Sigma Chi has always been a strong fraternity at the University of Mississippi, Eta would not be the chapter it is today without the steadfast support of our alumni. We're all proud to be members of Sigma Chi, which helped us successfully navigate the challenges of college, provided leadership opportunities, and afforded us lifelong friends, some of whom have become business partners and associates. rough the seasons of our lives, we always have Sigma Chi. It's evident Eta has been a successful chapter for many generations, leading other groups on the University of Mississippi campus. Because of the camaraderie of men, leadership development, and reinforcement of positive values, brothers have a strong affinity for Sigma Chi. Construction Progresses As we mentioned in our last mailing, construction began in October, and thanks to the generosity from many Eta brothers, all phases of the project are well underway. e slab for the dorm addition was poured recently, and the structural steel is going up as you read this mailing. is project is the next big step in Eta's future, and we need all hands on deck. Alumni Support Key to Success From the start of this campaign, we've had incredible growth in support and excitement for this endeavor to better our brotherhood. Since our November mailing, even more alumni have generously helped us raise another $140,000 toward our $2.5 million goal. To date, we have raised more than $2.2 million, and we are nearing 200 donors who've committed their support of the Building on a Tradition of Excellence campaign. While we are thrilled to be that much closer to achieving our goal, we realize that's still less than 10% of our overall active brotherhood. e average participation rate of most successful Greek capital campaigns is between 20% and 25% of active alumni. Imagine what we can achieve if we can double the number of brothers who support this essential and historic campaign for Eta Chapter. THE VALUE OF THE SIGMA CHI BROTHERHOOD AND A FUTURE WORTH SUPPORTING The Future of Eta As we look ahead, a lot remains uncertain given the ongoing global pandemic; however, we're certain Eta Chapter will help future generations thrive and succeed in college and beyond. To ensure Eta can support our undergraduate brothers, it will require teamwork—the same teamwork that enabled you to have a life- changing Sigma Chi experience at Ole Miss. As alumni, it's our duty to afford the same opportunities to the brothers following in our footsteps.
